Just saw your post Jac, I thought about you and Bristol De Mai when Green spoke about sentimental
bets, good luck with him on Saturday in the Betfair. Unfortunately he has the weight of my punt on
him too, I hope I haven’t jinxed him for you
November 23, 2018 at 11:54 #1386724I’d certainly echo recent comments. I’ve found it a very friendly and inclusive forum. I really enjoy reading Crepello’s comments on breeding, though I don’t necessarily respond.
Going back to Nathan’s earlier post, it would be nice to put some faces to names (or aliases) but I haven’t been able to get to any of the meet-ups. Perhaps there should be a section where members can post if they’re planning to go racing and fancy meeting for a pint, share travel or whatever – or even just to share experiences afterwards. I understand that this may fill some forum members with horror and that’s fine. Keeping it all virtual is also perfectly reasonable.
I detest golf but may start stalking the discussions Big G mentions to see what’s going on!
November 23, 2018 at 14:30 #1386744Graham just seen that NTD will be walking the course tomorrow to decide it Bristol De Mai takes part in the Betfair, fingers crossed he does but if the grounds against him I’d rather he stayed safe until his ideal conditions prevail, but it’s so frustrating for backers especially Ante Post with so many horses being taken out hours before the race, hope he runs for us.
Remember you were quite sweet on UnowhatImeanharry at one point.
Really missing the ATR seasonal competition it really brought us all together with some good banter and competitive spirit, hope it comes back next year but meanwhile I’m keeping an eye on the Godolphin site for the Fantasy League to start again, I wrongly thought it was puppet racehorses but you pick a stable of 10 real Godolphin horses with 4 chances, to change your choices through the season. Massive points are awarded especially if one of their horses wins a Group race and it looks right up our street.
We could keep tabs of any Forum members that are playing if they want to post up their user names and have a Fantasy League Thread, sadly there are no Private Leagues so it will be judged on individual performances. Will post more in the competitions or horse racing when I know when if anyone is interested, I’m sure there are some posters on here already who play. The golf Thread sounds good fun Graham and can imagine with Raymo also there it’s a real laugh and lots of doughnuts and broken biscuits being thrown about.
I’ll have to join forces with Tonge and stalk you from time to time
I’ve only ever met Jonibake at Newmarket Tonge twice and he is one of the nicest people you could wish to meet up with, appreciate it’s not always easy as we’re all spread around the UK.
Interesting Thread and lots of positive comments, are you still in the same frame of mind about the Forum Jasolong??
…would be interesting to hear your thoughts..Jac
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...November 23, 2018 at 15:01 #1386747I’ll be attending Taunton races next Thursday the 29th. If anyone wants to meet up for a pint or a chat around the parade ring PM me or post on here. It would have been my Wife’s birthday and we always use to attend the meeting years ago. One year we managed to blag our way into the weighing room and she got her photo taken with Richard Johnson.

November 23, 2018 at 15:07 #1386750Incidently, you may have hit on something with Ginger’s softer side, I heard from a very
reliable source (down the pub and at closing time) that Ginge actually had a penchant for
Quixall Crossett, and had posters of him on his wall. He kept that one under his bonnet
I’ll sue!
Me – “Quixall Crossett”.
Me – “a softer side”!
When oii were a Laad, had a poster of Shergar on the wall with Walter Swinburn up.
Now, I have a picture of Triptych above my fire place.
It’s true!
Well, to be exact: A picture of the 1986 Arc; Dancing Brave, Bering, Triptych, Shahrastani, Shardari, Acatenango, Darara and co.

Have a couple of water-colours I did myself (it’s better value doing them yourself) El-Gran-Senor and Hallo Dandy.
We all have our favourites, dosen’t mean I’ll let it alter who I back though.
Value Is EverythingNovember 23, 2018 at 22:59 #1386809Either we all agree Party Politics is the best steeplechaser ever, or I’m not part of the clique

November 24, 2018 at 00:01 #1386819You’re not part of the clique, Frankie.
Value Is EverythingNovember 24, 2018 at 10:47 #1386886Who are the clique…?
I’d say it’s Ginger and Jonibake…

November 24, 2018 at 17:31 #1386994This forum is refreshingly free of tiresome cliques
November 24, 2018 at 21:27 #1387044Who are the clique…?
The Cliques no longer exist.
Hughes, Billion, TAPK and co.
Hughes, Caution and co.
etc.Value Is EverythingNovember 24, 2018 at 21:33 #1387045etc…

November 24, 2018 at 22:02 #1387052MrE is in the first “co”.
Has he left us… again?
Is he ok?
If so he’ll be back… again.
Fist – almost forgot about him. Must be enjoying himself in Thailand.
I had a look in on the other forum when we had the Champions Day comp’. I saw Reet’s name stlll going strong there. Shame he didn’t take part, Ginge V Reet would be a nice match up.
Value Is EverythingNovember 24, 2018 at 22:13 #1387055As I was doing the draw If Reet was playing I could of guaranteed it…..

We’ve had
Celtic v Rangers
Coke v Pepsi
McDonald’s v Burger King
Joe Frazier v Muhammad Ali
Kauto v Denmanbut none of the above would be a patch on
Ginger v Reet Hard

November 27, 2018 at 10:51 #1387227The only clique I am in is with Mrsraymo !! LOL
I love it on here and both myself and the missus have a chuckle at some of the comments and most of you know the cakes are far more important than winning money!!

“Fist – almost forgot about him. Must be enjoying himself in Thailand.”When you were looking at the “other forum”, did you not have the luck or chance to read any of the posts by Tanlic? You might recognise the style; albeit modified a little by time. Surely there must be some strong beers that mature with time, like fine wine but somewhat more robust.
November 28, 2018 at 15:33 #1387313Just had a look at that, MV.
Nice to see Reet and Fist found a home together.
Fist’s views on the Betfair Chase seem remarkably similar to mine. Great minds think alike?
Value Is EverythingNovember 28, 2018 at 15:41 #1387314When people start talking about stuff, that no one else reading understands… It could be construed as a clique. So I call ‘clique’ on MV & Ginge. I’ve been offended, I have rights, and I will fight for these rights. Sisters, are doing it for themselves.
You two have not heard the last of this, you mark my words.
