Who is TAPK Nathan? Sounds like a brand of ladies tampons

haha
TAPK – The Ante Post King
Posted a lot on here back in the dayGaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
November 19, 2018 at 17:22 #1381077Isn’t the Ante Post King a.k.a Gord, or am I getting confused.

Jac no worries there,I like a flutter on Saturdays and your comp helps me think of which horses to back. Sometimes though reluctantly I’m forced to give low odds horses as I don’t see anything else having a realistic chance. So to give a 25/1 winner on your penultimate Saturday and napped it too felt really special.
Also like Pat’s Saturday handicap and Ante Post comps too, although some of the Ante Post tips I give go unbacked. Going to try and tip something special for the Grand National as it’s my favourite race.
Jac I especially like them photo’s you send when you visit those race courses, I hope you pick a few winners too. Had a workmate recently visit a racecourse. He went to Kelso where his partner might have been keen on Aye Aye Charlie, but at 1/12 that kind of price I’d just watch them.
P.S. also like to read Nathan post especially when he writes about Alex, who I image to be a healthy young boy keen on a kickabout with his Dad.
You've got to accentuate the positive.
Eliminate the negative.
Latch on to the affirmative.
Don't mess with mister in between.November 19, 2018 at 18:40 #1381085I’ll certainly get more racing photos out again Neil once the Craven kicks off in April.
Glad you enjoy them and thank you.
@Nathan
LOL about Queen of Newmarket,(I wish) when I save up enough money from my competition wins I’ll buy a racehorse and call her that but she’ll have to be by Frankel so it could be a while.
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...November 19, 2018 at 18:58 #1381087Jasolong I joined this site only a year ago myself and can share my experiences so far. If you are being ignored its not actually a bad thing it just likely means that people probably agree with you. if you ask a question and no one replies that may be different, maybe ask again. If someone answers your post they are probably disagreeing with you which starts a friendly (hopefully) debate. And if you’ve notified people of a bet its 50/50 you get a reply depending on what you’ve backed.
I would say keep going and use it for what it is and that’s a useful information tool for like minded racing enthusiasts.
November 19, 2018 at 20:28 #1381091This place is great. What I have just thought is that, a while back the site was painfully slow and it was sometimes difficult to keep track of things and reply to people. All resolved now. And there are lots of cosy little corners where some of us chunter away to ourselves; that’s what I do, anyway!
November 20, 2018 at 03:59 #1381116Well Jasolong, you’ve certainly given the forum some food for thought, and I’d imagine you’ll be
pleased with the decent response. There’s no doubting that some on here like to respond to each
others posts, but stick 20 strangers in a room, and when the dust settles some will have tuned
into some individuals more than others. I think that’s human nature and it’s reflected in here.
I don’t think there is anything to worry about, certainly there’s no pervasive Clique draining
the lifeblood out of TRF. I’ve seen enough of cliques in my former workplace to do me a lifetime,
so I think I would sniff them out here it that were the case. I wouldn’t take it to heart if you
don’t get a response at times, it happens often enough to me, and probably with very good cause
I’d have to add that I think it’s quite a supportive forum, and there have been quite a few non
horse related threads, or just comments, where quite sensitive and personal issues have been raised
and shared. There’s a general good sense of humour in many threads, sometimes it’s needed when things
become, shall we say, a little heated
Warts and all, I’d miss the place if it were to fall by the wayside, so don’t be throwing in the
towel just yet Jasolong, and as Tonge has already stated, just think of the occasional no response
as a resounding vote of solidarity
@Jac, I’m glad to hear that your hubby is still keeping in good health

@nausered and Rummy (Neil), sorry to hear about both your moms, I hope that the results come
back clear for your mom Nausered, and Neil I hope you are managing as well as you can with
your mom too
November 20, 2018 at 10:34 #1381122Nice post Graham
Thank you and to you and yours.

November 21, 2018 at 19:22 #1386614It’s the way of the world these days. You send someone a text and if they don’t reply within 2 minutes you wonder if they are still speaking to you.
I am an infrequent poster partly because I rarely bet (National, Cheltenham, boxing day and my trips to the races) so I don’t get too involved in the individual race discussions but also because I work a lot. I taped Cheltenham this weekend and have only managed to watch the action today. As I absolutely hate watching big sporting events when I know the results I have avoided this forum like the plague since Saturday and am only just catching up.
Stick with it Jason. I’ll try and continue to contribute to TRF when I can.
However if no one replies to this then I’m off
November 21, 2018 at 23:57 #1386652I am replying, Patriot.

I think you’re right, we can get a bit miffed if there’s no response, when
in fact all we can do is just put the information out there, what happens
after that is out of our hands so no point in bothering about it. I wouldn’t
worry about infrequent posting, you obviously have a busy lifestyle so you
do well enough. As long as you’re enjoying the forum that’s what it’s all about
November 22, 2018 at 01:17 #1386655Duplicate post
November 22, 2018 at 10:48 #1386660I don’t contribute much because I have found it is a bit of a clique site myself, it appears very betting orientated and male. I am not interested in betting at all, I am interested in racehorse breeding and racing history. I often rarely got replies to my comments and posts, possibly because of my niche racing interests.
November 22, 2018 at 20:16 #1386692Funny you should say that Crepello…I joined TRF because it was the least blokey, least betting orientated site I could find.
By least blokey I mean not misogynistic top bantz laddish…which is downright unpleasant a lot of the time and just tiresome all the time.
As for betting- well, every racing site will have a good lot of that. Here at least nearly everyone will chew over their selections run styles and aptitudes and there’s a lot of understanding of horsemanship, I think. Also- no tedious lists of what a horse’s price did in running or showy-offy screenshots of betting slips after the fact. Even the avid gamblers here quite often declare “Not a betting race for me”…and go on to speculate in detail what might happen.
It’s also kind of sweet that, in amongst the knowledge and logic, most of the regulars here will sometimes have little token sentimental bets on their favourite horses, even if their heads tell them otherwise (with the possible exception of Ginger who is much too clear eyed for that…though who knows what his betting finger is doing in secret
)November 23, 2018 at 00:41 #1386705You probably know I’m guilty green of the odd sentimental bet on horses that I follow and on Saturday it will be dear old
Bristol De Mai in the Betfair but in the past followed a horse called
Mia’s Boy in every race he ran in (to my bookies delight)
following on with horses like…
Sky Lantern
Limato
So Beloved
Eminent
Hawkbill
Tabarrak
Kool Kompany (My Avatar)
I found TRF by chance a good few years back now and couldnt believe the amount of information and banter going on I liked it straight away and the layout of the Threads so clear and easy to follow and partake in.
Remember thinking Gingertipster was a woman (he soon put me right
hi ginge) and got to know Nathan pretty well as he was quick to come back with a few cheeky posts after that.
Quickly learned its hard to distinguish who was who behind the Avatar and that there are only a handful of women on here on a regular basis. The odd sentimental bets and my profile name Triptych give me away but love hearing from Moe when she pops in (mainly in the NH season).
greenasgrass Tonge are like me and enjoy the comps and we have our own preferences for either flat (me) jumps or sometimes both.
We all use the Forum differently and as green says nobody goes over-the-top about how much they win just happy to offer up some good advice and get a few winners home.
No clique here as far as I’m concerned just a group of like minded people who enjoy sharing views entering competitions and a love of horses.
@Crepello
I’ve recently become interested in the breeding and history of racing, this interest has grown as over the years as I’ve become more selective in the way I bet looking more at Pedigrees and bloodlines. If you ever considered posting more on Sires and their progeny especially preferences for going or distance it would make an interesting Thread.Jac
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...November 23, 2018 at 01:53 #1386706I second that Green, to be honest I think this is as much a social site as it is a betting
one. I, along with plenty others on here, am an avid competition player, I probably spend more
time working out my competitions and following them, than I do at the sharp end of betting,
although I do enjoy a decent bet at weekends and all the big meetings. It’s a bit of a pity
that the Stable Stars Competition with ATR isn’t running this year, I fair enjoyed running
the league for that one, even though with all the updates and chat it took up a fair bit of
my time.I thoroughly enjoy writing on the best golfing thread on here, Darrens Sports bets, and
myself Darren and Raymo, and the occasional others who drop in, have a right hoot. Fortunately
for us I can also say that we are well ahead of the bookies there for each of the past years
we’ve been writing. It’s all there in black and white, no aftertiming. It’s been a steadier
income for me through some poor horse betting spells, and we all get them. Anyone who ventures
in there is always welcomed.Incidently, you may have hit on something with Ginger’s softer side, I heard from a very
reliable source (down the pub and at closing time) that Ginge actually had a penchant for
Quixall Crossett, and had posters of him on his wall. He kept that one under his bonnet
