Henderson form is well commented on however what’s everyone thoughts on some other trainers , Id say

De Bromhead , Hot , good weekend

Mullins Hot , when isn’t it

Skelton , Hot , cracking weekend

Nicholls Hot , so so weekend but strong last 2 weeks

    Elliott , I’d say cold , 15% but no winner in 12 days , is that a worry ?

It’s difficult because winning very ordinary races is a far cry from winning at Cheltenham.

Russell has had a few winners recently, but I don’t think that means Corach Rambler wins the Gold Cup.

True but she’s not bringing the number of horses Eliott is , while it’s not Henderson levels of worry it would make me think twice about backing Elliott at short prices , i can’t imagine he goes that long with out a winner to often

Venetia’s March form has been an improvement over February for L’Homme Presse followers.

I don’t think Elliott was in amazing form coming in last year either if I recall right but they had an ok Cheltenham in the end 3 winners, probably should have had at least 2 others (Pied Piper, Gerri Colombe) off the top of my head. Its a hard one to judge really because the bigger yards will have downed tools on the better calibre of horse coming to Cheltenham so you’re really judging the form recently off how their lesser lights are performing in much lesser races.

Ben Pauling is the one I’ve latched on to for a few bets. He has been in fine form for a while now. He is bullish about his Supreme contender but I’m not so confident. I like HANDSTANDS for an each way shot in the Baring. I think SIXMILEBRIDGE in the bumper has a great shout and he has others I’ll be keeping an eye on.

There are levels to ‘form’. Mullins scoops graded wins when comparatively out of form. Pauling has some nice horses this season, and has placed them well, but I don’t fancy him to go close with anything this week – i genuinely hope to be proven wrong. We need as many new names on the board as possible other than W P Mullins.

Henry de Bromhead, however, is one who has proven year in, year out, that he peaks them for Cheltenham and other Spring festivals. I have come round to backing Nara in the Boodles on that thought alone, though I prefer his graded runners to handicappers in general.

Elliott’s only winner in his last 20 odd runners was a 2/5 shot. However, being “in or out” of form is judged on more than just winners. Looking at how they’ve run, the Racing Post rate his current “ran to form” figure as 50%… Which is actually better than average. So his lesser lights have been running pretty well… And I’ve noticed more than once he’s come into Cheltenham on a seemingly poor run and then suddenly hit form. That said, tbh I don’t think he has that many good horses this year. Teahupoo an exception, good hand in the X Country. Firefox and Found A Fifty seem over-rated imo and I heard Salvador Ziggy broke a blood vessel in USA. Happy to oppose all three of them. Am sure Elliott will probably win a handicap or two. But to think it was neck and neck with Mullins a year or two, he’ll do well to get a third of Mullins wins on the board – even if they are “in form”. Gets a 6 out of 10 from me for current stable form.

I agree Pauling was in blinding form about two weeks ago. Nothing at all wrong now, but I wouldn’t say he is actually “in form” still. Gets a // 6 out of 10 from me.

Lucinda’s is not quite rated a full star for “in form” yet, but they do seem to be getting better and better… Gets a */ 7 out of 10 from me. Probably be at her very best at Aintree.

Henry De Bromhead could not have timed it better… again. 8 out of 10.

Guess who gets a 9? (Very few get a 10).
