If I’ve got the right horse (that’ll be a first) I think Slatt has won his last four hunter chase and point-to-point starts by the combined total of about 80 lengths.

I’m still prepared to wait until he has faced a stiffer assignment before getting too taken with him first, though. There was mention made of a physical problem (possibly breathing) last season. I don’t know whether or not this has been operated on in the close season, but if it has, it certainly hasn’t had to pass any particular scrutiny from decent rivals on the track since.

I do quite like both him and Agus A Vic on what I’ve seen on paper, though.

I believe your onto the right one Jeremy. Started off in bumpers and maiden hurdles (stuffed in all bar one) early last year. Switched to pointing for the new season and dotted up in his Maiden Hunter Chase at Downpatrick. Yer Grand has since beaten the runner-up that day by miles and miles but TMFS was clear from about the 2nd and never looked like anything would get anywhere near him.

Cashmans have him at 5/1 for the big one though.
