All these horses putting up unsatisfactory trials yet the one horse who was impressive – Honeysuckle – will probably not run in the race.
As Tony Morris once said, sad, mad, bad.
December 15, 2019 at 23:04 #1477420This division is wide open. As much as it wont happen i wonder how ENVOI ALLEN would get on! For me, The value is in COUER SUBLIME. I saw comments saying he has came in after the summer looking a much stronger horse and if your looking at PENTLAND HILLS as a possibility, Then you also have to take him into considerations.
December 26, 2019 at 14:42 #1478108Great win by Epatante. They must go here now getting the allowance but I suppose there is question mark over the form after Fusili Raffles pulled up.
December 26, 2019 at 17:08 #1478137Very impressive; hope Epatante + Honeysuckle both don’t go for the Mare’s Hurdle!
December 26, 2019 at 17:49 #1478144I doubt Epatante will go down the Mares Hurdle route. I think connections see her as an out and out two miler. I suppose the question she has to answer is her effectiveness on the track after she disappointed in the Dawn Run last season.
Honeysuckle probably will go down the Mares Hurdle route. Such a shame!
December 26, 2019 at 19:22 #1478147That race was dreadful today, she won well but, dreadful race
December 29, 2019 at 14:39 #1478468Hope Klassical Dream OK. I thought that was going to be a broken hindleg for sure.
December 29, 2019 at 14:39 #1478469Klassical Dream disappointing again. Though not too surprised on that ground despite the mistake hopefully not done any serious damage. Backed Sharjah just for today. Good ground flat track right up his alley
Nicky Henderson won’t be losing much sleep yet.December 29, 2019 at 15:27 #1478477I’m surprised klassical dream even ran on that ground
If this is on gd to soft or better I think sharjah has every chance but csnt back him ante post as if it’s any softer he wont have a chance
January 1, 2020 at 15:36 #1478683Well the Relkeel hurdle has done nothing to suggest we have a particularly top horse in this division.
Just looking at the market it is awash with mediocrity.
From a Willie Mullins perspective if he decided to run 8-10 in this just for a hell of it, the chances are he’d win it.
Saldier, Sharjah, stormy Ireland, klassical dream, laurina, melon or even faugheen or un de Sceaux. There’s a champion hurdle there for the taking to whoever throws enough darts at it
January 7, 2020 at 20:51 #1479198Pentland Hills 9-1
January 9, 2020 at 19:57 #1479384I’d love to see Honeysuckle go here, but I fear it will be The Mares route for her.
I just can’t see past Epatante or Sharjah here, I cannot split them.
I’ll go against them though for the bigger odds with both Supasundae and Petit Mouchoir who are 40/1. I’ll really have to go ew at those prices
January 9, 2020 at 20:04 #1479387I fancy Pentland aswell, He was jumping so well on his return and maybe the fitter horses just took it away from him up the hill, He’ll come on for that run.
January 10, 2020 at 12:25 #1479439Despite the horrendous record that Triumph winners have in the champion?
January 10, 2020 at 13:18 #1479444Small bet so far on Sharjah 10/1 for me. Hopeful of a normal GS ground Fez and if that’s the case this beast is a 4s shot.
January 10, 2020 at 20:53 #1479475Despite the horrendous record that Triumph winners have in the champion?
A fair point. However this season…. 1) there is no standout really it looks open at the moment, and 2) this is Nicky Henderson we are talking about here.
January 11, 2020 at 13:03 #1479560Henderson has won the triumph a record 7 times, and NONE of the previous 6 winners won a champion hurdle. In fact none of them came within an asses roar of winning one
