Whilst he is overrated in my opinion (at times I’ve heard him on this forum be the gold cup, chanpion hurdle, champion chase and Ryanair winner 2018), the most overrated horse in training is Brain Power.

Not sure anyone has claimed Brain Power up to this class, MOM.

To be filed under the ‘take with a pinch of salt & we have heard that before’ but Ricci just interviewed on ITV said he is 50/50 on Douvan making the race.

    Cheers Ham.

IMO Douvan won’t make it. Both Ricci and Walsh sounded less than 50% sure he would make Cheltenham and with a horse of Douvans quality and age, they won’t rush him.

Agree Charlie, i think theyll do a Faugheen, flirt with a comeback but never actually do it

Think you have nailed it Jack. Ruby dodged questions on Sat like bullets in the Matrix, but you just see written all over his face that he knows Douvan is more unlikely than they are letting on.

I’d be surprised if Douvan sees a racecourse again this season. From having been
ruled out by Mullins just before Christmas, to now Ricci saying he’s improving
after walking and started training, I don’t think is going to be in any way a
proper build up to a race like this. I’d like to hear Mullins take on this. I
think he’ll end up being put away, trying to get him ready for next year. I think
    that would be sensible.

Wouldn’t blame Ruby not answering in any definitive manner – he learned a sore, sore lesson in Vautourgate. Once bitten . . .

Yorkhill being aimed at this tells all you need to know about how likely Douvan is to make it here. But can’t criticise connections not ruling things out.

I think the decision to run Yorkhill here is completely independent of Douvan to be honest. When Min smashes Yorkhill on Saturday I think you will see Yorkhill going for the RyanAir with Un De Sceaux and Min will be Ruby’s Champion Chase ride if Douvan doesn’t make it.

If Douvan does make it Townend could potentially get too ride Yorkhill in the Ryan Air, Min in the Champ Chase and a Killultagh Vic in the Gold Cup with Ruby on Douvan, UDS and Djakadam

Yorkhill is 2/2 at the festival over 2 mile 5f. If it’s not broken, don’t fix it

PN sounding very bullish about Politologue.

    Yorkhill V Min tomorrow…..should be a cracker.

Min on the drift…..out to 11/4 now.

I wouldn’t pay a blind bit of notice Altior. PN has a habit of being overly optimistic and bullish about most of his. NTD is the same.

Maybe now people might stop rubbishing on about yorkhill. His best trip is two and a half miles and even at that he never looked like a machine to me as some people claimed. This “he has a massive engine” nonsense has been proven wrong. Won at 2 Cheltenham festivals over 2.5 miles yet has ran over 2 and 3 this season. Madness

Whilst I think Yorkhill is slightly overrated, it’s more than harsh to use today’s run against him.

He never travelled at any stage through the race and will almost definitely have an issue undetected. I can’t see him running at Cheltenham after that. Looked somewhat lame.
