Well done Mike, class told despite the ground.
March 16, 2022 at 17:50 #1587789Thanks green.
March 16, 2022 at 17:51 #1587790Special horse
March 16, 2022 at 17:51 #1587793Very good performance. Let us hope he can jump as well as he can gallop.
The ground must be absolutely desperate. They finished strung out like as if they were in a 4 mile chase!
March 16, 2022 at 17:54 #1587794Well done Mike.
Value Is EverythingMarch 16, 2022 at 18:02 #1587802Don’t steal all the plaudits mike hahaha

March 16, 2022 at 19:10 #1587825Well done all those with the ability to edit earlier posts.
March 16, 2022 at 19:41 #1587837Can’t Mullins send him to Royal Ascot Gold cup this year? I genuinely believe he is as fast as G1 flat horses. And with likes of Stradivarius in decline, Facile Vega can surely win the big money in June.
March 16, 2022 at 19:48 #1587842I think Mullins has previously floated the idea of running him on the flat.
Does anyone know what the rules are regarding running NH horses on the flat? I always used to think there was a rule preventing bumper and/or P2P horses from running on the flat but in recent years i’ve either been proven wrong or there has been a rule change at some point?
March 16, 2022 at 19:51 #1587845Bumper horses can run on the Flat. Turbo Linn won a few bumpers before winning in Group company. And a Dermot Weld trained bumper horse (sorry, cannot remember the name) ended up winning the Ascot Gold Cup.
March 16, 2022 at 20:01 #1587857Mullins has enough horses in Jump. I would campaign Facile Vega in flat during summer. Looks like a brilliant speedy horse along with Stamina
March 16, 2022 at 20:50 #1587879Often wondered if Willie was tempted to have a crack at the Ascot Gold Cup with Annie P or Faugheen. Bothe significantly superior to e.g Wicklow Brave and Simenon, who were v competitive in staying races on the flat.
Maybe keeping them in training over the summer would have been too severe on them.
Also wonder if he’d aim Facile vega at the Champion.March 16, 2022 at 21:19 #1587883Wd winners! The right horses in 2nd/3rd/4th
I had a decent lay on him, which i could have gotten out of at halfway but i let it go, SB clawed a little back e/w, a little
March 17, 2022 at 00:01 #1587921“Rachael Blackmore reported that the bit slipped through HOULANBATORDECHAIS (FR)’s mouth, causing the gelding to become unsteerable”
Interesting. He was keen, but not as keen as Madmansgame and seemed to be coping very well on the ground and travelling nicely and I thought at the time he didn’t look like a horse who had just run too free and got tired- I didn’t realise this happened. Mark that up for next time.
