Shack
Forty Foot Tom is out lame, if For Bill was in the bumber she’d be a very short price fav so your 16s look great value….good luck
Not relevant to this year’s race but For Bill wouldn’t have the pace to finish in the first ten in a Chelenham bumper. Has been very well placed to remain unbeaten.
February 26, 2010 at 13:19 #279244I’ve heard whispers that Araucaria will be trained for the Punchestown Champion Bumper after her next run rather than the Cheltenham equivalent.
I hope it’s just a whisper, not a bark !
Will be seriously upset if this one is re-routed, but hey-ho the joys of ante-post punting

Would keep your money in your pocket for now – been told the trainer is changing his mind daily as to where to run her – ran Candy Creek and Liss Na Tintri both in the Aintree race last year.
February 26, 2010 at 13:34 #279250Kiely rarely leaves home with his good horses. Sweeps Hill was kept for Punchestown last year rather than going for the Cheltenham bumper. I’d say it is odds-on the mare doesn’t line up.

I hope you are wrong, but thanks for the tip-off.
I note she’s entered at lep on sunday.

Lot of money for this lad today, now top price 20/1
February 28, 2010 at 17:13 #279698" I like this Shot From the Hip
Magnier has a incredible record in Bumpers if you look over the past few runners he has had."
YEEE HAAAAAAAAA 6/1 LADS WOOP.
Again Magnier does the business…lets hope JP doesn’t buy it off him which i dont think he will after that. The masters are back O GRADY AND MAGNIER
February 28, 2010 at 17:17 #279699"We’re very lucky they didn’t race at Naas last week. This horse had a rest and was supposed to start back on January 1st which became the 17th because of the weather," revealed O’Grady.
"Last week would have been too soon for him. We got a gallop into him last Saturday instead and that helped for today. Hopefully he comes on for it.
"If the owners wishes to go he’ll travel (to Cheltenham). I think he’s a horse that has improved quite a bit and hopefully he improves a bit more."
Boylesports, Sean Grahams and Ladbrokes all introduced the winner as a 10/1 shot for the Champion Bumper at Cheltenham.
February 28, 2010 at 18:27 #279723Difficult to guage the value of the Leopardstown race as the winner nicked ten-fifteen lengths. Doubtful he will be able to ride anything like the same race at Cheltenham.
Indirectly hoping the bumper at Fontwell may have more relevance. Probably a poor race but the winner was well supported and vitually won on the bridle. Despite having a pedigree with seemingly an emphasis on stamina Cue Card might just be a pretty good horse.
February 28, 2010 at 22:57 #279783Shot From The Hip will need to be some horse to win at Cheltenham with that fella on his back though.
Who knows, he could well be
March 1, 2010 at 14:31 #279864DK Weld is letting both his bumper hopes to take their chance at Cheltenham, and he hinted Pat Smullen will ride Hidden Universe, with Robbie Mac up on Elegant Concorde.
I wonder who’ll be riding Drumbaloo then
March 2, 2010 at 22:02 #280146Can someone confirm how the ballot will work for this race as I assume it will be oversubscribed.
Despite thinking Cue Card is the best of the home team I am a little concerned about him getting in as he has only had the one run.
March 4, 2010 at 16:46 #280411Now Araucaria is out i i’ve jumped ship to Drumbaloo. Excellent value at 16s NRNB and Trainers comments on ATR booking Choc T back it up. Same path as Dunguib…. he is right if WPM was trainer it’d be a hot favourite.

Why would he be favourite? His actual form looks pretty ordinary. The Hereford race was garbage and some very average horses were not beaten too far on both his subsequent wins. Personally I wouldn’t be interested at 25/1.
March 4, 2010 at 20:30 #280461Stilvi write this horse off at your peril

Could give all the big guns a fright!!
March 4, 2010 at 20:35 #280462I can’t see Shot From The Hip being beaten personally.
I have never seen a Bumper horse run like that in Ireland in a long time. Made a very brisk pace then sprinted from the field after 6 Months off.
March 4, 2010 at 20:38 #280464Were the sectional times for the early part of that race very fast wallace?
Just wondering out of interest if he went at a very bisk pace or if the others just allowed them a soft lead?
March 4, 2010 at 20:39 #280465Drumbaloo would need it like the Bog of Allen to win the bumper. He looks a right boat to my eyes. Tornedo Shay was given too much to do against him at Navan and Barry Connell made a right hash of things in the bumper up the North.
