FORTY FOOT TOM
He’s going to be REALLY expensive!
I wonder where he’ll go? Somewhere at the top level I’d say
Mullins? Nicholls? Eddie O’Grady?January 25, 2010 at 00:17 #271948DK seems to have quite a big string of bumper horses this year. Be interesting to see if there’s any decent horses among them.
Hidden Universe looked fairly decent yesterday!

He was impressive but similarly to the Mullins point winner that followed up in a bumper what did he beat? If you have backed him for Cheltenham the Racing Post comments about him actually running were not particularly encouraging.

You obviously saw Hidden Universe win at the weekend…
have you seen my thread on this race entitled
ONE FOR THE NOTEBOOK? MEMBER’S OPINIONS PLEASE
It’s in the Trends Reasearch Notebook section
I wonder if you care to comment, I’d be most oblidged for any opinion
January 25, 2010 at 23:38 #272086forget about hidden universe because come bumper day at cheltenham he will be in his box at rosewell and elegant concorde will be comming up the straight of the costwolds on his own.
January 26, 2010 at 20:40 #272247Don’t know how much truth there is in this but I heard Hidden Universe pished on Endless Intrigue in a gallop before his bumper, giving him 2 stone
January 29, 2010 at 17:51 #272745Impressive win by Dragon’s Roost in today’s bumper but chances are it was probably a poor race by Newbury standards. Add to that Moore talked up Vino Griego last year and then didn’t enter him.
January 31, 2010 at 11:34 #273186Forty Foot Tom had been sold for £200,000,….see thread on Irish Runners at Cheltenham
January 31, 2010 at 12:14 #273202£220,00 I think it was
February 6, 2010 at 10:19 #274336Just rang 10 bookmakers for a quote on a horse for this race – 8 quoted 33/1 and the other 2 25/1. Further evidence that it is 33/1 bar every horse in training. I will not wasting my time again.
February 6, 2010 at 10:54 #274348Stilvi – I went into a Paddy Power shop and a Hills shop in East London a couple of years ago for a price on a horse for the RSA Chase, both firms were "33/1 bar – others on request". I was quoted 20/1 for the horse in question, incidentally he’s running today at Sandown.
February 7, 2010 at 17:58 #274723Irish Bumper Horses WTF
They look useless!!!!!!!!!!
DK Weld looks the man in this race.
A Irish Bookmaker said take 7/1 on Elegant Concorde coz he be 5/2 on the day?

Do we trust Bet Chronicle and Donal McCarthy
February 8, 2010 at 12:32 #274861Got to be one of the weakest bumper divisions in recent years no standouts at all.
February 8, 2010 at 12:54 #274868Having missed the earlier part of the season due to injury I missed the superbly named Quinfromcloonbunny make his winning debut.
Is there any news on this horse, and will he be in the line up at Prestbury Park?
Any suggestions welcomed.February 8, 2010 at 18:06 #274957Some amount of cash for Hidden Universe today

I see JP McManus has bought Made in Time.
Not surprising when you look at the way he won a Ffos Las. The commentatot remarked your be lucky to call the winner about 2 1/2 furlongs out and I almost backed one in running who was sitting just behind AP. He looked to be travelling like a dream when suddenly AP dropped to the drive position on Made in Time. The repsonse was instant and this thing just took off leaving everything in his wake.
He runs on Saturday when yours truly will be getting stuck right in and he’s now 20/1 at best for the Bumper at Cheltenham.
JP bought him on AP’s recommendation. Not the first time he’s done that but this looks like a exceptionally nice horse and could be well worth an EW interest for the big one. If he wins as expected on Saturday expect a new fav.
