– 18 horses who are unbeaten this season entered
– lots that have won by wide margins/0r on bridle
– very little form to make any sense of who is best
– Wide open race
– Impossible to back anything with confidence
– Cross out the english runners and have a lucky dipCouldn’t agree more!!

I must confess to not knowing a great deal about the Irish Bumper horses, but I watched a small piece on ATR about the Mullins trio and I couldn’t believe how far back
Bishopsfurze
came from on his debut – I thought he was attempting the land speed record down the Fairyhouse straight!
He was clearly as green as grass that day on ground he hated. Should enjoy this better ground and the uphill climb.
Al Ferof
has a good chance of keeping the prize on these shores and was impressive at Newbury, beating two well regarded, previous winners.

He did say it was the best bumper horse he had ever trained….well done the Tizzards
March 17, 2010 at 17:21 #283360Wow, an English winner of the Bumper..Shot from the hip backed off the boards and was ultimately disappointing, well done Stilvi, 40/1 winner!
March 17, 2010 at 17:21 #283361stilvi; why didn’t I listen to you??? [and funckmaster as well…]
March 17, 2010 at 17:24 #283362Think Funkmaster highlighted it too….1-2 for the English, obviously not the best crop of bumper horses in Ireland this season…

Magnier shocking ride, lost his nerve too soon.
Horse wanted cover as you dont travel 6 wide in any race at Cheltenham just look at Dunguib, horse was a little keen but just keep pulling and tuck him instead of losing energy eye balling Al Ferof for 10 furlongs which mentally had an effect on horses.
Very bad to see.
