    Died after suffering a heart attack mid-race at Kelso this afternoon.

    Poor horse, so sad when they suffer a heart attack. Especially when it happens in front of the stands.

    Cassius was labouring as he jumped the hurdle before the stands and collapsed as he was pulled up past the post on the first circuit. The reaction from the crowd suggested sympathy and sadness. The course staff reacted as quickly as they could under the circumstances, but the gelding was already down and it was clear little could be done.

    R.I.P. to a familiar campaigner at Scottish courses.
