I agree Andy. If they rest him and bring him back for the St Leger he should be able to win the Triple Crown in a hack canter 95% fit of he is as good as AOB says.
If all went well there would be no reason for him not to go for the Arc and secure his place as Europe’s top 3yo if he wins it.
His first priority must be the St leger as winning that despite the act it most likely will be a pig of the race, it’s the one that will get him most recognition due to the fact it has the Triple Crown attached to it.
October 11, 2012 at 20:18 #22794Hope he will survive his operation and make a full recovery after this bout of colic.
Would appreciate anyone with more news to keep us up to date. It also would be a great shame to hear bad news about this horse. In fact about any horse at all.October 11, 2012 at 20:31 #416239fingers crossed he can pull through this, they say more news tomorrow

October 11, 2012 at 20:49 #416240The biggest killer is the time delay between realizing the disease and the start of the treatment which is actually the biggest worry because of the complex nature that comes with Colic in regards to finding the right diagnostic and the potential infections.
Hope he can make it, very stressing for all concerned a 25/7 job with 110% care and commitment.
October 11, 2012 at 21:48 #416248Hopefully my suspicions are right and there’s nothing wrong with him. Retirement beckons.
October 13, 2012 at 10:58 #416507Most of that doesn’t make sense, but save your prayers for someone who needs them Fely. There is nothing wrong with the horse. This is what O’Brien and Coolmore are pretending, as an excuse to retire him as he is nowhere near as good as the truth economists would have you believe.
October 13, 2012 at 14:27 #416561Latest Tweet is that the plan is for him to return to training
October 14, 2013 at 11:27 #24903Camelot was found to be lame this morning and has been retired.

As Ive said before. Not as good as we are being told by his connections and no where near as poor as some would speak of him. He could make a very good sire.

October 14, 2013 at 14:12 #454914It still bothers me that he came so close to winning the triple crown but was beaten by a horse from a stable that was found to be somewhat untrustworthy. He must be given credit for doing so well over so many distances, surely. I hope he does well.
October 14, 2013 at 15:17 #454918Me too, he nearly won a triple crown for goodness sake. Can anyone prove 100% the godolphin horse NEVER had any performance boosters. The drug may be out of the system but the muscle bulk still remains!
October 14, 2013 at 15:47 #454921Camelot’s a good horse but has been the subject of ridiculous hype from AOB, primarily i think because of running within the shadow of Frankel.
r.e Godawful – I think some people have known for some time and there could well be a connection to last years St Leger. Dettori leaves their stable and the following spring the story breaks ?
The BHA continue to bend over for them.October 14, 2013 at 18:33 #454933Irrelevant of whether people think AOB overhyped Camelot, he should have bagged that triple crown. If you watch the st leger closely, the moment JOB finally gets the gap, is when Encke is roughly 2 lengths in front, powering to the line. A couple more seconds and Camelot would have gotten up. I just cannot see that kind of jockey error happening, given the circumstances, when someone like Murtagh or Fallon used to ride for AOB.

October 14, 2013 at 18:35 #454935He was very good, and you have to think he may have been unlucky not to win a Triple Crown. Then again, he wasn’t a Nijinsky so maybe it’s just as well…
Could be a very good sire.
Here’s a pic I took of him on Derby Day, you can see the Epsom grandstand reflecting in his eye.
