Not to take anything away from Zarkava, but Goldikova had improved at least 10lbs since those meetings, and it looks as though she’s found an additional 6/7lbs this evening.
Very impressive!October 26, 2008 at 00:48 #186436Not to take anything away from Zarkava, but Goldikova had improved at least 10lbs since those meetings, and it looks as though she’s found an additional 6/7lbs this evening.
Very impressive! On my ratings she hasn’t improved at all she is a genuine 119 filly. Goldikova didn’t stay (IMO) when they raced over 11f but she ran to exactly the same mark when beaten over 8f by Zarkava has she has in all her victories since.
Its a matter of opinion of course but if you think Goldikova has improved 10lbs you’re talking a nigh on130 filly and Darjina must be 128ish. There’s no evidence that Goldikova is anywhere near that and Darjina certainly isn’t a higher rated horse than Duke Of Marmalade, New Approach and Henrythenavigator.
October 26, 2008 at 00:56 #186437I see RPR gave Goldikova 112 for her French Guineas run which sort of aids your point Reet but that rating is ludicrously low and plain wrong IMO. At the time I rated Zarkava 123, Goldikova 119, Halfway To Heaven 116 and that I think has been proved to be far more accurate than the 120, 112, 109 of RPR.
October 26, 2008 at 00:57 #186438Goldikova was just phenomenally good – but it’s difficult to hand off all the royalties to Zarkava when she was proven to be not just a straight-out miler.
October 26, 2008 at 00:59 #186439Red Rocks has obviously been trained for the race. He goes really well for Frankie and appears to thrive in the States.
I normally leave my account alone on occasions like this and just enjoy the action, but a Sixties Icon / Red Rocks double looks tempting.
Could be a good night for Frankie.
18.10 Sixties Icon
18.50 Diabolical
21.35 Donativium
23.00 Red Rocks
23.45 Raven’s PassEnjoy the action!
I’m sure you put the mockers on Frankie, Bosranic
October 26, 2008 at 01:17 #186444No reason for you lot not to back Donativum after the RP Trophy!

Exactly what I was thinking!
However, Westphalia is a pretty good reason not to back him

Nah not for me. Red Rocks because I think he has a great chance and The Duke because his price is as stupid as Halfway To Heaven’s was in the Sun Chariot. They are my only bets.
Will be cheering the Brits on though, obviously
October 26, 2008 at 01:42 #186448Wish I’d listened to you now M Deering.
Good night for the Europeans so far.
October 26, 2008 at 01:44 #186449Watch Crowded House go even shorter on the anteposts in the morning
October 26, 2008 at 01:45 #186450You loopies!
Save the lord – at season’s close, two races shed some light on the 2009 Classics.
October 26, 2008 at 01:46 #186451Poor Jimmy Fortune. RPT form looks sweet.
October 26, 2008 at 01:58 #186452Dare I say it but the master trainer Mr O’Brien is just 4 wins from 32 group ones (where he has had entries of course) across the globe since August.
Has the man lost his touch? Or is this all building to a climax for the last two races?
October 26, 2008 at 02:30 #186456SOF opens at close to evens on the American Tote
October 26, 2008 at 02:34 #186457If there is one horse of the whole meeting I’d lay it is Soldier Of Fortune. His best form is on soft ground he’s not going to win this on fast ground when he’s proven to be better on a softer surface.
Lay, lay, lay!!
Now watch him scoot in

Haha I was tempted…until AOB said that he’s not a soft ground horse and that it’s ‘just a myth’. Even if thats not really the case I still dont fancy my chances against AOB’s opinion.
I’m hoping to be collecting in 30 minutes time when Red Rocks comes in in first
October 26, 2008 at 02:37 #186460Apparently, Bob Baffert ‘would probably sleep with his charge Midnight Lute if it were allowed’ according to some cluts on ATR.
