Views here.
November 5, 2009 at 06:33 #257170Has to be Twice Over for an e/w here. Britain going back with another decent Mr Prospector descendant who had decent enough form with last years 1st two home (in what i thought was a good renewal). This years lot dont look quite as good, and despite the europeans record in the BCC I think 16-1 is a good price on this one.
Mine that bird would be the safety bet. Couldnt even think of touching RVW at his price on this surface.

According to Timeform Rankings Rip Van Winkle
must be the biggest certainty ever to set foot on a race track. Rip Van Winkle 134….. Conduit 130 Paco Boy 129 and Zenyatta only 128.The Rip Van Winkle 134….. Conduit 130 tells me RVW’s rating should be nearer 130 and Zenyatta is impossible to rate as she’s never really been in full flight like Rip so often has.
I was actually wondering a while back if she would have beaten Sea the Stars had he gone for this.
Now we send a sub and expect to beat the best in the USA in a common canter according to our betting
Zenyatta has been winning over 9f and won 6 Group 1’s and 4 Group 2’s and every race she has been ridden exactly the same way. Mike Smith had given the as much as 15 lengths of a start and she has often looked liked she hasn’t yet got into top gear when the race is over.
If ever a horse looked like she was ready to take off at the end of her races it’s her and if he winds her up a little bit earlier by the time they hit the furlong marker Rip Van Winkle will think a hurricane just went past.
Zenyatta by 2 lengths.

I cant say I know that much about her to be honest except what I read. How will she be on the surface?
I like RVW but I strongly believe that he mightn’t be seen in this.Unlike his great nemesis in Europe over this year, and perhaps because of his legs, he’s not guaranteed to produce a certain level of performance.
He has been beaten alot in his career and he certainly wasnt that impressive last time out.
I would have thought that a very robust (or at least specially prepared) individual is required for this.
One other thing for people in her who more than I do (which is probably everybody) How do Gallileos normally do this on this surface??

Quote re RVW from AO’B in this morning’s Post:
"I have no doubt that we have never come here before with a horse of this calibre".
Fist – You have been warned!

Amazing how their horses keep getting better every year .I wonder if Ballydoyle was using its own rating system, what number they could put on the likes of RVW ??

Sorry about that SHL.
Fancy, me forgetting that you know the horse better than his trainer?November 5, 2009 at 14:10 #257242Sorry about that SHL.
Fancy, me forgetting that you know the horse better than his trainer?Your forgiven Reet And my apologies for suggesting that Ballydoyle have a tendency to hype there own horses with an eye on the breeding potential. Such stuff surely belongs on http://www.conspiracy.com
Im not even sure what the horse is doing here given how strongly they believe he doesnt stay 10furlongs anyway.

November 5, 2009 at 14:23 #257243November 5, 2009 at 17:08 #257268I just took some at 3.8 on Rip for around 30 quid.
Why is he 6/4 Laddies yet 11/4 ish on the exchanges. I know the bookies are dire prices for the breeders cup but that is a mammoth difference in anyone’s terms.
Nice to see Ballydoyle are keeping up there gambles.
20 Minutes before Mikeal Glinka won today he was 4.2 on Betfair….on the off he was 2.1 at best. AHHHHHH If only John Magnier would give me a heads up on these things i be retired.
November 5, 2009 at 17:21 #257271Anyone watching The Works just there.
Frank Lyons the Irish dude working for American TV…(There are lots of them i know, but his accent is cool)…….said that Aidan told him its the best Horse he has ever had.
Que the remarks.
But in all seriousness he is better than Henry who picked up weak Group 1s.
The thing about the Yanks is that there Horses are desperate desperate desperate.
Curlin was supposed to be a Monster and he was stuffed….I expect the same from Zenyatta…and he cant afford to be tailed off the back like usual because she wont be able to close on RIP like the rest of those Fillies.
Rachael Alexandra is the the only good horse in Yanktown…she has beaten Colts and sloppy tracks and is just a brute of a Chaser in the making.
Zenyatta is Britians equilvant of Binocular and Irelands version of Fame and Glory. Flat track Bullies.
Quick word also for Richards Kid….i think he will run very well
November 5, 2009 at 18:54 #257288I’ve had an ew on Richards Kid because of all the good things I’ve been hearing about him..but I want Zenyatta to win; she’s the sort of horse that makes racing the great sport that it is.
November 5, 2009 at 19:00 #257289Moe i saw Richard Kid work and he worked very well a few days ago.
I have put couple of quid on him at 20s
November 5, 2009 at 19:28 #257296Amazing how their horses keep getting better every year
Ahh listen, we’ve never had one like this before ya know. Do you understand? Listen, the speed of this horse is just unbelievable ya know

Ding Dong!
That’s as bullish as they’ve been since….well…since STS retired.
November 5, 2009 at 21:49 #257323LOL @ the Americans not buying into O’brien mentioning a problem with RVW other foot. I think he gave up after a day when he noticed it didn’t get him a bigger price over there.

And when he dots up, it will be how great is STS?
The more cognisant might just ask where? -
