Has anyone from the BHA resigned yet …nope , this whole affair stinks ,the cover up was and is a total disgrace
What happens to the trainer will sort itself out for sure , this is hugely ironic as his father bought the course(Cheltenham,) to save it from the builders grasp , racing is steeped in tradition , it will be a major shock if anything dramatic happens to him long term
Will the Bha learn from this communication blunder …one can only hope so , it makes the whole game look like a closed shop for the priveleged few

Why repeat these points
again
, days after everyone’s moved on from this business?
The drug was
not
illegal. The trainer broke
no
rule with Binocular. It’s been demonstrated by evidence that this was
not
a
"cover up"
, concerns scientific grey areas, is
not
a
"disgrace"
, was a BHA judgement call between two arguable options and
not
a
"blunder"
, and had
absolutely nothing
to do with protecting the
"privileged" [sic.]
few.
Unless you’ve any
evidence
to substantiate your repeated, tabloid accusations, this class-ridden, chip-shouldered organ-grinding needs to stop, Ricky. Think of your blood pressure!
March 18, 2011 at 09:15 #345914Pinza , you need to grow up son , its about opinions and free speech , if you dont like it , get over it , but for goodness sake dont go all childish and post inane rants like you do …
For the record , I very much doubt if the Binocular episode will just go away quietly , if you had half a brain cell you would realise that as well ..but sadly your nature is to scream and rant and talk a load of bullocks
GROW UP

"Free speech" goes two ways:
Pinza
is just as entitled to it as
Ricky
(or so one might think), and preferably without the
ad hominem
responses which often seem to come in for want of
evidence
.
We know what your feelings and surmises are. I repeat (last time) where is your
evidence
, Ricky?

You know the answer to that Pinza so stop being facetious. Like many on this thread Ricky hasn’t got a fact to stand on. Mud pies are not evidence but that wont stop the hecklers tossing them.

True. But we live in an age where if enough hot air gets generated the authorities seem to feel duty bound to bend like reeds before the wind. The BHA does monitor what’s said here, and so it’s important not to let them think that everyone’s in the eructation club.
The great thing about this Forum is that I’d guess most of us have been swayed at some point away from our prejudices, vague feelings and surmises by the reasonable, thoughtful posts which contributors (such as yourself in this case) have presented to us. I know I have.
March 18, 2011 at 16:01 #346033Ricky,
"What happens to the trainer will sort itself out for sure , this is hugely ironic as his father bought the course(Cheltenham,) to save it from the builders grasp , racing is steeped in tradition , it will be a major shock if anything dramatic happens to him long term".
I like that "will sort itself out".It took two years to "sort out"K Fallon. We expect more than "sort itself out".We expect fairness and justice. We expect Howard Johnson to be treated like Fallon was treated, not just sorted out. They sorted out Fergal Lynch when he paid the fine etc etc. They refused to let him ride in the US just to prove their concern for racing.I guess his father could not afford to buy a racecourse. What a bunch of showers.A young lad that went astray and was an easy target for those people. But when it comes to N.Henderson or Howard Johnson they lose their bottle.Suddenly their concern for stable lads and horses is overwhelming.
As for "racing is steeped in tradition , it will be a major shock if anything dramatic happens to him long term".That is exactly the problem with English racing.Tradition outranks justice.
Can you imagine what would happen to Gordon Elliot if he was in the box rather than Johnson or Henderson? He would never be heard of again.March 18, 2011 at 17:32 #346047Andy , your dead right , at least you understand the problem , racing has untouchables , its just the way it is
Dont tell Pinza though , as he has just exceeded the time his mum has allowed him to stay on the computer , and golly does it show !!!….there there nice boy , have your tea , all will be well
Meanwhile back in the real world , racing is running out of victims , but dont worry some small unheard of trainer will have the kitchen sink thrown at him soon …

Ricky and Andy
, I’m sure you’d like to be amongst the first to join me in congratulating Nicky Henderson on training his first Cheltenham Gold Cup winner. At the end of what has been, as I’m certain you’ll agree, a difficult and trying week for him, the grace and modesty with which he accepted the plaudits were a fine advert for the sport of Horse Racing, the Corinthian Spirit, and proof that in the end poetic justice can be done.
Gentlemen – forget our differences. Join me in a toast to a great day, a great race, and a trainer who is a true master of his craft!
March 18, 2011 at 18:16 #346054Pinza surely you jest. But getting two right out of three is not a bad acclamation.
