(3:55) 266E Juddmonte Beresford Stakes (Group 2)
€74,750.00 ( 1m – 2yo )1 5 Bobbyscot(103) (PDDeegan) – WJSupple…….. 9,01
2 2 Lastofthemohicans (FR) (APO’Brien) – JAHeffernan ………………. 9,01
3 8 Layali Al Andalus (GB) (MJohnston (in GB)) – JFanning …………. 9,01
4 7 Montecchio(96) (KPrendergast) – DPMcDonogh…………….. 9,01
5 9 Passion For Gold (USA) (SBSuroor (in GB)) – AMunro ………….. 9,01
6 1 Reiteration (USA) (JSBolger) – KJManning(T)…………….. 9,01
7 4 Senior (GB) (ELynam) – PJSmullen…………….. 9,01
8 6 St Nicholas Abbey (APO’Brien) – JPMurtagh .. 9,01
9 3 Top Spin (JJMurphy) – DMGrant ………………… 9,01Any chance we’ll get another Sea The Stars out of this race this year?! St Nicholas Abbey was fierce impressive on debut but there might be a suspicion that out there that Ballydoyle’s horses aren’t in the greatest form at the moment. Godolphin are flying at the moment and Passion For Voice won his maiden well at Thirsk.
Probably between the two of them. Reiteration ran well on debut behind Black Quartz but he hardly looked a world beater at Galway. Doubt he’ll be up to this class.
September 25, 2009 at 20:50 #250102Reiteration looked good on debut and its the only horse i fear. Because as we all know i am a massive fan of ST Nicholas Abbey. This horse will win the derby next year. And apart from the Bolger horse nothing will beat it.

I’m 100% with you Darren. Couldn’t get on the phone quick enough after he won at the Curragh and backed him again this week.
He never looked to be travelling just ok at the Curragh until JM picked him up and he took of like a really high class horse. He certainly impressed me more than any 2yo had done at this stage last year.
As I said to a fellow member at the time he’s like Mastercraftsman with wings
Be a major shock to me if he’s beaten and an even bigger one if they offer 6/4 about him like they are forecasting on the SL website.September 25, 2009 at 22:33 #250116Right, now that Fist’s said that I’d say Reiteration’s pretty much guaranteed victory now.
September 25, 2009 at 22:59 #250118Would you like to say that again?

He’s right anyone want to lay me 3/1
September 25, 2009 at 23:14 #250122St Nicholas shouldn’t have to do too much to beat this lot. Bolger’s Horse is the one for the forecast…not sure about the Godolphin Horse as Dettori isn’t riding but who knows could be decent.
September 25, 2009 at 23:47 #250126Santa Clause is odds on, so i just had a small bite for it to win the derby as it will fall if he wins nicely anyways.
Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way, oh what fun at 20/1 for the Epsom derby.
September 25, 2009 at 23:56 #250129Sorry Fist, I was going to follow up with my reiterate joke.

Not funny to others, but it tickles my fancy.
As to the various merits of St Nicholas Abbey, Chabal, Reiteration et al – don’t have a clue. Will watch with earnest interest.
September 25, 2009 at 23:58 #250130Dettori is riding Eastern Anthem in Germany, in the Europa.

Carried his head in such a domineering fashion – he’s a really sexy prospect for the Derby.
Top horses can defy their stable’s poor form, so I’m looking forward to another galloping session from Saint Nick.
September 26, 2009 at 13:10 #250169Won’t watch it again, but I don’t recall the trainer of Santa Claus being mentioned in that clip.
It was nice to see a race that Baldric II ran in, even if he didn’t do very well. It’s a name I come across in pedigrees, and I can now think, "Ah, 1964 Derby runner." My imagination can fill in the blanks about his French record. Have just realised that he was the sire of Irish Ball, who I backed EW in Mill Reef’s Derby. [edit: Gosh, Baldric II won the 2000 Guineas and Champion Stakes – I didn’t realise that I was that ignorant.]

If Waseet runs well in the Royal Lodge, and Suroor lets him take his chance, then I won’t be opposing Passion For Gold (even if Alan Munro is booked to ride).
September 26, 2009 at 16:34 #250206A quick look down O’Briens Beresford stakes winners should show you in what regard he holds the race and indeed the horses he runs in it.
