On paper looks a poor race there does not seem to be a STS or SNA in the race.Casamento will go off fav but i felt he was lucky to get as close to Pathfork.Because Pathfork did not like the ground and was in front way to long. Not saying Casamento can’t win i am looking somewhere else the AOB horses are not superstars. The tip is MUSIC IN THE RAIN.Was behind Dunboyne Express on debut but won next time out may not be a star but he is my tip here. What you guys think
September 24, 2010 at 12:29 #319074I wouldn’t agree with your assessment of the National Stakes. Casamento was only having his second run after an easy assignment in a maiden at Limerick Junction. When McDonogh got after him it took him a while to find his bearings but he really ran on well when he met the rising ground.
The extra furlong on Sunday will suit and he should win this handily unless there’s serious improvement in one of the opposition. Mick Halford wouldn’t be known for tilting at windmills and the fact that he put him straight into a Group 1 after his maiden win speaks volumes. I’d say he’s potentially a very decent colt. How long before Bin Suroor gets hold of him though?
September 24, 2010 at 18:06 #319119I think Casamento is a good horse had him in FC last time out.He should win this but last time out Pathfork was in front for to long that is why he got close to him.
September 24, 2010 at 21:59 #319154Difficult to see Casamento being beaten. The other horses look Gp.3 at best.
Casamento was having only his second run when close up to Pathfork last time and beat Zoffany by 5l. Not totally convinced by the argument that Pathfork was out in front for too long, and from where I was standing thought Casamento was a better future tip for 2011 races.
The fact that Long Live the King (who looked one of AoB more promising 2yr olds) is running in a maiden on Saturday rather then here may also lends weight to CasamentoSeptember 26, 2010 at 07:48 #319417It appears as if Casamento has the better odds on his side and should win but there is another horse to look at besides Casamento and that is Factum. Not saying which of the two will win but merely stating the fact that Factum has an even chance against Casamento. If they are equal in form and racing experience, all that is left is to look at the trainer’s stats and realize that O’brien is a factor that might promote Factum to victory.
September 26, 2010 at 15:30 #319512Did that nicely enough I thought. He’s a likeable sort.
September 26, 2010 at 17:35 #319538IMO Pathfork is the best juvenile colt I have seen thus far, he has beaten decent types and Casamento franked the form today in a decent Group 2. I hope he lines up in the Dewhurst.

September 26, 2010 at 18:43 #319551I’m another in the Pathfork camp,
Favourite did look impressive and quickened smartly.
September 26, 2010 at 21:34 #319596Would Pathfork et al have enough guns to stop the imperious Frankel ?

September 26, 2010 at 21:42 #319599Himself,
I don’t know, what I do know is that Pathfork has beaten some decent horses, I cannot say the same for Frankel.
