I think Mullins is looking after the horse long term, Ian. Stepping stones.
Hasn’t ever been thrown into the deep end until now. He’s only 5. Still growing, could be a monster. Still possible he could run in the SupremeGaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
February 15, 2023 at 21:18 #1635610I don’t like either.
However, Tiz i’d say it’s fair to suggest the 5th winning the Sidney Banks LTO ran a fair bit below par at Newbury. No?
Even the 4th as well?
3rd pulled up NTO. Probably has an excuse tbf.Newbury was tough going that day, and i’d say plenty haven’t shown their true colours.
That still shows Hermes Allen in a good light as he dealt with it.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!February 15, 2023 at 23:52 #1635625I’d say it shows how good a race it was. The ones that were pulled up didn’t show their true colours?? The one that won with his head in his chest might just be an absolute machine??
The ones that were beaten out of sight have ran in and won decent races next time out. It’s everything you could ask for in terms of backing up what it appeared that day was a very special performance.
The form is red hot and that’s undeniable to me.
February 16, 2023 at 08:22 #1635633Fair play tiz you’re fully onboard the Hermes Allen train. Maybe he’s the next superstar and will just be too good.
Personally think he’ll fall into the Stage Star/Bravemansgame camp. One for the future and the Nicholl’s long game.Twitter: Jackh1092
Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!February 16, 2023 at 09:56 #1635641” The challow form is absolutely red hot now. 4 next time out winners. 1 of which was the Sidney banks winner who finished nearly 40 lengths behind Hermes Allen ”
The issue for me is the Challow form for this race and Cheltenham in general – several very good Challow winners have failed to follow up at the festival and Wichita Lineman won the Albert Bartlett, not the Ballymore
Challow second is running today at Sandown
February 16, 2023 at 09:59 #1635642I watched the Challow again yesterday. Hermes Allen was seriously impressive.
I take the point about Challow winners at Cheltenham but I think this one is cut from different cloth.
Providing the ground is not too quick, I think anyone betting against him in this race is taking a chance. He looks by far the most likely winner. I reckon he would be even shorter in the betting if Mullins trained him.
I am not going to back him now because at this stage you may as well wait until the day. But providing the race times on the Tuesday are not fast, I doubt I will be backing anything else here.
February 16, 2023 at 10:47 #1635651I’d say trained by any Irish trainer + he’d be shorter….simple fact is, 7/1 stage star and BMG 4/1 had plenty of hype about them to do nothing. He’s not had a horse relevant other than those two in i don’t know how many years.
Not saying he can’t win it, but trainer’s are a factor.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!February 16, 2023 at 14:26 #1635675Be interesting to see if You Wear It Well franks the Hermes Allen form here at Sandown
February 16, 2023 at 14:31 #1635676And frank the form she did, bolted up, not sure the Elliot second favourite ran a true race though.
February 16, 2023 at 14:39 #1635678It’s the strongest form of any race going into the festival bar none!
Anybody looking to play it down is doing so to try to look clever and frankly be a contrarian.
February 16, 2023 at 14:50 #1635680Deeply Superficial was 8 lengths ahead of Little Flour the horse Gaelic Warrior could have beat 500
next time out Deeply Superficial finish ahead of two 250/1 shots and was receiving half a stone to those in front that day.Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
February 16, 2023 at 15:01 #1635681<inserts can’t tell if serious or just really stupid gif>
February 16, 2023 at 15:05 #1635683Stage Star would not have beaten Sir Gerhard but the ground went completely against him. And I would be fairly confident about Hermes Allen being a better horse than Stage Star.
Bravemansgame ran well in the Ballymore. It was not his fault he was up against a peak form Bob Olinger. Again, I believe Hermes Allen is a superior Challow winner to BMG.
February 16, 2023 at 15:22 #1635686Just to settle the argument between Nathan and TC….
I’ll go Impaire Et Passe 5-1 ;o)February 16, 2023 at 15:34 #1635688Mike. There is no argument.
As the old saying goes, I’m not going to allow myself to be dragged down to Nathan’s level
February 16, 2023 at 15:49 #1635691I think Gaelic Warrior will run here Mike.
The Liffey was run at a slow enough pace for a 2 mile contest and Gaelic Warrior settled well in third without any pulling. If they run off at a pace they can drop him out or he can make the running.
No value in the market so just Geeing it up somewhat.
Skybet are going 9/1 Hermes Allen and Delta Work double to £20.00 a day, if you are looking for a bit of somethingGaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
February 16, 2023 at 15:55 #1635693Gaelic warrior will run id be certain of that nathan
Hermes allen the form looks above average for a british novice for once!
Betting the pair right now would be my angle at 3/1 & 5/1
One of them will win, evs min covering both
Im green in this thanks to GC so i may aswell

Dont like impaire/dont like CK/ dont like good land
