I’d say hermes allen will need soft ground

Not because he won’t go on good ground

But because he will be vulnerable to something with a proper 2 mile turn of foot on good ground like impaire et passe and gaelic warrior

Some soft ground to make it more of a stamina test will be useful for him

“I think Gaelic Warrior will run here Mike.”

You mean you hope he does ;o)

If Hunters Yarn is deffo the Supreme as quoted then IEP should be coming here i reckon. Mullins described IEP as ‘special’ or ‘a bit special’ when asked about him so we’ll see if he lives up to that billing in this if he goes.

Hermes Allen does tick plenty of boxes, nothing against him as such, backed him at Newbury
as others have said Cheltenham trainer form, going and up against a decent field
That said they all have at least a few question marks against them, makes it an intriguing race

It’s another pretty shameful season from the best of British

Pricewise was singing the Gaelic Warrior tune antepost tipping him up, and now has said in the preview show that Impaire Et Passe will win. ;o)
Not only that it’s his nap of the meeting.

Pricewise throwing more bullets at this race than gingertipster would the National.

For all my bluster and hullabaloo regarding Hermes, Nicholls hasn’t exactly been glowing about him. I’m not getting cold feet, but he’s drifting in the market and I think a saver on Champ Kiely is worth a go.

I’ll also stick him in an each way patent with BMG and Perseus Way for the boodles.

    “bluster and hullabaloo”

Chezza INFINITELY prefers bluster and hullabaloo to: sitting on the fence, aftertiming and all the other tedious afflictions that manifest themselves on racing and betting forums.

Strong opinions – win or lose – are interesting and entertaining.

    Keep ’em coming, please, TC.

Half the reason for the drif tizz is this confidence surrounding impare, which i cant have myself, theres a good chance of soft ground,

Still siding with gaelic warrior even with knowing paul will choose impare, but i think thatt’l prove incorrect

Looks like confidence in Hermes Allen is draining away, especially after Nicholls’s Grade 1 winner that ran today finished 10th.

Impaire Et Passe is clearly the most likely winner. I backed American Mike at 10/1, so am naturally disappointed to see him at 33/1 now! Maybe I am being too loyal but I have had to back him again in the hope first time headgear perks him up.

Pricewise has tipped Gaelic Warrior again after saying IEP would win in the preview and making it his nap of the meeting :o)

Give him a chance Mike, still plenty of time.
He’ll probably give Good Land and Impaire Et Passe a shout out soon.

Hermes is a difficult one to guage but he’s the most exciting selection for me. The way he nonchalantly dismissed his Challow rivals made the hairs on my hair stand up.
He and Good Land have huge appeal. If Good Land was a Mullins horse he’d be as short as Impaire. Reverse Forecast please. Hermes Allen/Good Land

Impaire et Passe for me. I think if he’d run in the Supreme he might have won it but they didn’t want him to run against the golden boy Facile. I think he’ll win the Turners next year as well (or the Arkle if Facile’s knees can’t stand up to a season over fences)

Ho My Lord is very interesting for the future- will be watching closely with a view to possibly 3 miles over fences next year.

    Good Land for me.
I’ve deserted Hermes Allen, just as he’s shortening

It’s a right minefield , I’ve got to back Hermes as he’ll love the ground ……and I can’t leave American Mike alone so he,s covered e.w
