This Group 3 1m5f feast for 3yos has got me more excited than Nathan on a Hannon stable sleepover with Classic.
The reason?
Tower Of London!
Now the annoyingly-sensible Mike would no doubt tell me to calm down over a colt who simply won off an arguable mark of 93 last time out, but I just can’t help myself.
He bolted in!
And he’s a full brother to Capri!
I’m on at 16/1 for the St Leger.
Currently 4/1 for this but no idea if he runs and he’s one of three entries from the yard.
But I’ll be superglued to the screen Tuesday morning to see if he’s declared and if Ryan Moore rides.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!July 10, 2023 at 17:33 #1654965A compelling case, Jack.
I admire the utter lack of reasoning, actually – by all means give them a sample of the dish from time to time, but NEVER give them the recipe!
Anyway, me and thee had better keep an eye on Paris, where our pair have an alternative option: https://www.france-galop.com/en/racing/detail/2023/P/RVpUVW9wdXdxVExBTWpaMGJOcnIwQT09

So no doubt he will hack up in this then win the Leger instead
Saint George I’d drifting and becoming more and more appealing
He hits 4.0+ on betfair the FF91 curse will be applied to him
July 12, 2023 at 22:36 #1655131I’ve got 16s Tower Of London for the St Leger and I will be backing him for this race to recoup that stake and then some tomorrow.

I’m all over Tower of London hereGaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
July 13, 2023 at 02:41 #1655141Saint George’s Queens Vase group 2 run where he pushed the St Leger fav looks the more relevant form line, he has improved since them ‘Struth days’. We’ll see if TOL is deserving of his rating and short odds off the back of his handicap win.
July 13, 2023 at 08:33 #1655152O’Brien has so many horses he has to run them somewhere. It wasn’t long ago Paddington was running in a handicap
Saint George would be running in handicaps if in the O’Brien yardGaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
July 13, 2023 at 08:38 #1655153I’m with Mike here.
I’ve watched the tower and he ran in a very poor ulster derby.
Pacemaker set the fractions so he’d have been hard pressed not to win that.
Saint George to win and an each way on Klondike also owned by the lads.
Both horses have form with Gregory.
Going likely to be changed as it was raining heavily in Suffolk last night.
Although Newmarket in the west has a different warmer climate so may have avoided the rains.July 13, 2023 at 10:16 #1655156It looks like Tower Of London has been punted off the boards. 7/4 yesterday, into 4/5 now.
July 13, 2023 at 11:33 #1655159I remain unconvinced about the tower.
The going being my concern, he was 6/8 and fifth of five on soft and heavy. He may have been pacemaker for August Rodin back in September but he tailed off very quickly that day. I just can’t have that price. He could come into his own today and blitz the field, but it’ll be with someone else’s money.
Rain or no rain the sprinklers will have been on and it’ll be the yielding side of good at best.July 13, 2023 at 11:38 #1655160Tower of london is now a ludicrous price so compelled to back Saint George
5.8 will do nicely

Gutted doesn’t even come close.
I think he’s the most likely winner, but he’s been backed as if defeat is out of the question and he’s very short.
