Great runs by Dank, Gifted Girl and Dandino. Ground was very quick after week of hot sunshine. Good covering of grass but could have done with more water. Moore was brilliant on the Stoute filly and both 1-2 probably aiming at B Cup now. Dandino will now head to Australia for Caulfield Cup and Melbourne Cup.
Soumillion threw away his whip in last furlong because he couldn’t change it over as they were so close together. He lugged out when he saw the big screen but battled back bravely and Christophe told me afterwards he will stay up to 12f. Hong Kong may be ultimate aim for him.
B Cup is Lasix free for 2yos but rules can’t be changed yet for the older horses.
Amazing day for Ken Ramsey and particularly for his great stallion Kitten’s Joy.
Wish we had the same application of rules here.You cheat ,you are out.No drivel about the best horse etc.You come off a straight line and bump another horse or cause him to come off a straight line and out you go.Once the jockeys know the rules they ultimately learn to obey them.Careless riding means you lose.
