I was always a fan of Toormore while he was racing, despite his many disappointments.
Soon after the start of this year’s stud season he was removed from Dalham Hall’s roster due to lack of interest in his services, and they were going to make a decision what to do with him next
Does anyone know where he’s ended up since?
June 5, 2017 at 16:13 #1303575Looks like he’s back in training – with Charlie Appleby. No entries that I can find, though he’s only had him since 17th May according to the Racing Post database. I always liked him too.

He’s a fine specimen of a horse and if going on physique he’d have been popularGaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
June 20, 2017 at 08:44 #1305033Thanks for the update, I do hope we see him again before long.
I’ve never seen him race in the flesh but saw his sire Arakan beat Trade Fair at Newmarket a few years back; he was a smashing looking horse. Must have been one of the last of the Nureyevs by that time.

June 21, 2017 at 18:11 #1305410Canford Cliffs is being sent packing to South Africa. Surprised that no other studs like Tally Ho etc did not try and buy him and give him a chance .

That’s a shame I would have liked to have seen him stand at the National Stud along with Toronado and Gregorian.
Strangely enough they have Marcel standing there for £5000 with the same damsire as Canford Cliffs.
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...June 21, 2017 at 18:33 #1305415Word on the street is that the wastage percentage with Canford Cliffs is way too high for a commercial stallion. Too many fundamentally unsound foals sadly.
It’s such a disappointment. I thought he could be a very important stallion for the breed – he brought a very fresh bloodline into the equation.
