    Woteva 7.20 Kempton
Tom Tate’s only runner at Kempton tonight. Comes here on 3rd start for trainer (had break prior to running for T Tate) on back of respectable efforts at Nottingham and Doncaster over a shorter trip, both times keeping on one paced inside the final furlong. He has dropped steadily in the weights and is 5lb below last winning mark. Worth chancing from the foot of the foot of teh handicap at 16-1/18-1 mark.

    Douginho

I did take a closer look at Woteva myself but couldn’t really find anything to recommend it. Best of luck though, I shall be relying on Via Mia who has gone close the last twice and just might put her head in front tonight

Ooops. Lunchtime form reading, Aaron. I listened to it on TF and realised my mistake. :D

Will be watching your selections – and Doug’s – with interest tonight but no bets.

Quite a nice Kempton meeting tonight, but sticking to the one (dutched) bet.

7.00 Bennelong was by far the best looking horse on show in the handicap he won at Southwell. He shone like a beacon in an average handicap and landed some tidy bets at a short price under the ever-popular Frankie D.

However, his profile suggests he could be a "Southwell" horse: One of those who come to life on the deep sand. So while I can’t resist a small saver, I’m backing polytrack proven

    The Mumbo

off bottom weight now the Willie Jarvis horses are back in some sort of form. I’ve seen 10/1 which is too big.

    Best of luck

Shame this thread is hidden away as always well worth reading. Will try and add to it if and when I can remember.

A horse I have a share in, North South Divide runs at Wolverhampton in the 7.20 on Friday. He shaped well on his first start for us at Lingfield last time and looks capable of winning off his current mark if everything drops his way. We were struggling to get a rider in this restricted apprentices race and I don’t know much about M. E Power, but hopefully if he can negotiate a clear passage he should be thereabouts. Here’s hoping anyway.

Best of luck tonight DJ. It looks like the jockeys first ride tonight so lets hope its a winning start for him. I shan’t put the khybosh on it by burdening him with my money which is added plus for you but he looks like he has the beating of those who finished in front of him LTO. The two others that catch my eye would be Headache & Easy Wonder although the former has the worst of the draw.

Due to work constraints no write ups I’m afraid

630D Romeos On Fire Alt Forbidden City
    700D Iron Major
830D Senor Tommie Alt Spring Hawk
    900D Funatfuntasia Alt Shaimaa

Thanks for that DJ – will be watching with interest. :D

One bet again tonight. My current obsession with finding stables about to strike form has led me to the Lincolnshire yard of Steve Gollings. He appears to have brought a few Tom Tate animals including

    Laterly

(20.50) who has a first go on the sand and whose prominent running style will be suited to Dunstall Park.

Ian Mongan is a good jockey from the front and Gollings won with another Tate cast-off (The Kyllachy Kid), a couple of meetings ago and his horses are running better than at any time of the year. If he ran anywhere near the form of his Haydock run in August, he would win this comfortably off the same perch (89). Incidentally, Laterly was runner up to today’s Ascot pegasus-impressionist Inventor last year – form which also entitles him to win this. Tonight, he’s up against some erratic types and might just have the necessary touch of class.

    Best of luck.

    Contenders

Punching, Lord Deevert, Embra, Ask Jenny, After The Show, Briannsta, Pinball

    Minimum odds: 13/2 – 7/1
Punching seems to reserve his best form for Southwell. Ask Jenny’s last win was in May 2008, After The Shows last win was in Apr 2008 so either of them could bounce back to form today. 7yo Briannsta’s form looks exposed at current BHA rating.

    Embra

    gets favoured conditions along with

    Lord Deevert

who likes Lingfield and the step up in distance should suit. As for Pinball?????

If any one was stupid enough to bet my fourfold above based on results thus far I have £96 riding on

    Arganil

in the last leg of the bet in the 3.05 at Lingfield. If he wins at current odds the return for the fourfold is £671. You may want to consider laying part of the bet off for a no lose bet.

Tranquil Tiger was 7/1 on Betfair for that race. Probably the bet of the season as he should have been challenging Presvis for favouritism at those weights

A dozen satsumas rolled in icing sugar and speared on a chocolate covered lolly stick couldn’t wipe away the sour taste in my mouth after Cumani’s underhand antics on Saturday so its off to Southwell we slouch for some good, honest midweek sand action.

I fancy two at the beginning and two at the end for a tasty Tuesday yankee.

12.00 Part-time riders so microstakes. Thus,

    Westport

is down to his lowest ever mark, has course form, and is drawn to bounce out. Won over a mile here and the family pilot isn’t bad. I might regret this, but course form in this race is at a premium.

    12.30 I backed

    Rockson

at 66/1 last time based on her appearance in the paddock and the trainer’s recent results. She was nibbled into 40/1 and crept into things quietly when it was all over in the contest won by a typical Lazarus-like Johnston winner. Dropped in class today and a big price expected once more on her third run for Ian Williams. It’s a terrible race.

In other news, Dickie La Davoir runs over the minimum trip: I couldn’t invest tuppence hapenny at that trip on this surface. Another poser set by the increasingly idiosyncratic RC Guest.

    3.00

    Benedict Spirit

    is

    1112

in Class 5 races at Southwell and has also placed twice in Class 4. The trip might just be a step too far, but the gelding has cheekpieces first time, Probert up and he’s down to the last winning mark. Can’t have the favourite on my mind under a double penalty upped in grade.

3.30 Watch out for another punt on

    Premier Lad

in the last for the hot Barron yard. A three year old (one of three in the race), who needed the run last time out and is racing under ideal conditions: A proper Southwell horse racing for a proper Southwell stable.

    Best of luck.
