If Samcro is missing this race there could be some value in the race at 16/1 the field be interesting to see how Blow By Blow and Getabird gets on this week , would Next Destination take in this race as surely that would be running for a place in the Ballymore behind Samcro if so 16/1 could be a massive price what do you guys think
November 27, 2017 at 10:42 #1329005I like the look of On the Blind Side but haven’t had a bet on this race as yet.
November 28, 2017 at 12:17 #1329190Hey SA , Willie doesn’t give away much but he does talk of sending Next destination down the staying hurdle route this season and expects him to improve on his bumper form. 4th in the champion bumper and impressive on debut at 2m3f so I think 16/1 is value here coupled with what you point out on Samcro.
Question is does Willie consider the Ballymore Novices a staying hurdle race too? I think, as you do, Samcro is going to prove to be a good thing and others will avoid and will come here.
So if hes good over 3m he comes here and we collect right
?November 28, 2017 at 12:21 #1329191I like the look of On the Blind Side but haven’t had a bet on this race as yet.
Exactly the same as me.
No bet yet but I was very impressed with OTBS last time out
November 28, 2017 at 23:50 #1329303I like in the Blind Side too I’m just finding it hard to ascertain what he’s beaten so far. I haven’t made up my mind yet.
On what we currently know from those that have raced this season I think one has to look across the sea. From my perspective Cracking Smart looks both a cracking and smart bet. He’s already raced and won over 3m and has won on both good and soft ground and, according to Gordon Elliott’s stable tour, summered well and is described as ‘exciting’. I think we’ve still to see many a horse for this race but as things stand this seems a sound bet at the moment.
I think Blow by Blow might end up here too which would be interesting. I was slightly disappointed with his performance on his hurdling debut but I’ve had him marked as one to watch for a long time.
November 30, 2017 at 20:55 #1329551Ballyward could potentially be interesting for this.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!December 3, 2017 at 08:59 #1330111Got Blow by Blow for any race but think he might end up here with Samcro aimed at the Neptune. Has the scalps of Moon Racer, Death Duty, Bacardy’s and Presenting Percy on his CV after his Bumper runs.
Off for 500+ days and been touched off in two decent maidens lately over 16 & 18F staying on well. Looks to be a natural jumper and can see him improving a fair bit stepping up in trip now and start making up for lost time.
Hopefully he gets his head in front in a decent race over the next 12 weeks and enters the picture for this. 33’s could look a fair price come March.
December 4, 2017 at 11:13 #1330314Quite apt that he beat Another Stowaway at Aintree.
The form of the point to point he won is terrible but he’s put that behind him with two wins over hurdles and the latter of those is good form.
Of the three main novice hurdles at the festival, previous Cheltenham experience is also most prevalent in the form lines of winners of the Albert Bartlett, unlike the Supreme where the vast majority of winners are making their debuts at the course.
Looks to have a very good chance come next March.
December 8, 2017 at 08:14 #1330924I’m hoping Next Destination goes for this and have backed him at 16s.
Was really impressed with his debut over hurdles. Looks the real deal
December 12, 2017 at 15:16 #1331737Got Blow by Blow for any race
I am in the same boat. Backed BBB multiple times @ 14/1 to win any race. In those two maidens it looks like plodding around in the AB would suit him. So yeh, hopeful he gets there sound and is entered in the right race
December 17, 2017 at 08:49 #1332576Straight up to 2 Mile 7 F today Charlie.
December 17, 2017 at 14:04 #1332630Blow By Blow made to work hard at 3-1 on.
December 17, 2017 at 14:17 #1332637Blow by Blow is clearly an out-an-out stayer which might be want you want for this. I’m not convinced the ground was ideal for him today but either way, I agree, he made very hard work of it. That said I just wonder whether a race run at a true championship pace at Cheltenham over three miles up the hill might be just what he needs.
December 17, 2017 at 14:23 #1332640I may be wrong but, to me, following his injury he just doesn’t look like the horse he was.
December 17, 2017 at 14:27 #1332643I know we didn’t see him last season but it was all quite quiet from Elliot with respect to Blow by Blow. Do you know what injury he had and how bad it was?
December 17, 2017 at 19:31 #1332703He had a small chip in his knee apparently.
January 6, 2018 at 13:50 #1335943Dom Dolo trained by Alan Fleming worth keeping an eye on as an outsider in this market (40s) – form franked by Guided by you in cork today
