Corach Rambler is a very interesting contender here, and think he looks a horse worth following, while I’m a big fan of the Venetia pair, Achilles, and Commodore. I’ve a very slight preference for Commodore, who was dynamite last time, but it’s really tough to split them.

I’ll add one of them after Final Decs, but the one I’ve bet early is last years winner, Notachance.

He’s done nothing since landing this, but signs of a return to form at Haydock, and weighted to run well again. Jocked up, trainer likes the race, and I’ve a feeling his season will be geared around this. Be disappointed if he doesn’t get involved.

    Notachance 9’s

Achille needs to win this to have any chance of getting into the National. Dropped 3lbs for what I thought was a fine run in the Welsh National, so is running off a very handy mark. Got to have a big say.

    Hollow Ginge @ 18’s

Been following him for a while now and nearly caught him first time up this year, he should of won that like FFS :negative:
Jumped the best i have seen him in the Ladbroke trophy last time, looked to be going as well as anything for most the way and must of gone 1.1 to place but just seemed to stop as if shot in the straight.

Had a look at the card to see if he got entered and noticed he has a wind op which might explain it or maybe just clutching at straws.

Two selections for me. I’ve also went The Hollow Ginge 18/1, and I can see a big run from No Rematch at 20/1

Pleased to see that one of the Venetia Williams pair drops out, so I’ll join you Peter with Achille.

Was considering Corach Rambler as a saver, but with three in The Lanzarote, I couldn’t possibly justify that. Still think he’s got a big chance

Couple of relative outsiders have caught my eye – Captain Tommy and Game Line.

Padleyourowncanoe was quite well thought of at the Tizzards before the wheels came off a bit. I expect the Skeltons will get him jumping a fence ok. I’m also joining FLD on Captain Tommy. He has never been over this trip but is by Court Cave out of a stoutly bred mare whose form is full of “kept on one pace” type comments so has a decent chance of getting it.

Padleyourowncanoe for me. After his Haydock return over hurdles, over a year off the track, local course for the yard and horse. Yep, a decent bet i feel :good:

I was very impressed with Corach Rambler both at Cheltenham and Aintree. Surely he must still have more to offer amd I’ll think he must have a decent shot here.

Also my loyalty with Jerrysback is not very rewarding, but I still think it might one day work out. He often tends to make some jumping errors before staying on to grab a place. Maybe the extra distance will help him and he is on a very interesting mark now for an EW-shot.

Finally I had to beck Head to the Stars. A very big price for someone who finished 3rd and 1st in his last two races. When finishing 3rd he was only a length behind Final Nudge, who franked the form in last week’ Veterans Final. A big drifter today, so maybe something is wrong, but with this price I’m willing to find out.

    Corach Rambler 6/1
    Jerrysback 18/1 EW
Head to the Stars 50/1 EW
