Looks more like a Danehill than Galileo.
Will enjoy faster ground and 16f+.
Entry for next years Melbourne Cup would be a decent shout.
August 21, 2012 at 08:02 #410321No butterflies yet Gord – I am more confident about this race than many of the others – but I have a four hour drive tomorrow and I am sure I will be nervous as hell by the time I arrive!
Darren – good luck with your bet mate. Just a sombre word of warning though. The last time St Nic ran over 10f he couldnt catch his pacemaker. For me he is a 12f horse through and through.

August 21, 2012 at 13:21 #410351All his races at a 1m2 been when had his first run on turf in europe it is he be more fitter now than ever for a top class 1m2 race
And what about the action you dont like Galieo rock.gord
August 21, 2012 at 13:29 #410352He’d run 2nd in Dubai 35 days earlier Darren so should have been fit enough to beat Windsor Castle. The ground would have been against him tho and to be fair Aiden has recently said he is a 10f top of the ground horse so will be interesting.

August 21, 2012 at 14:56 #410365Twirl finally got her head in front today. Serves me right for not looking at the Irish cards as I only saw her running 7 mins before the off.
August 21, 2012 at 15:56 #410374I only saw her running 7 mins before the off.
No wonder she won, with that head start!! LOL
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
August 21, 2012 at 18:23 #410393The only concern for the Frankel brigade is that by coincedence something is amiss with the horse and everyone thinks he can’t get 10f. I don’t see there being any problems for him. I’d assume the 10f horses will fall short of the required class, and that SNA is in there to try and expose any potential distance questions. The only thing of interest will be the winning margin.

SIR JOHN HAWKWOOD.August 22, 2012 at 13:08 #410459Well, what a superb start to the Ebor meeting for TAPK and hopefully his father as well as many of us i hope

Hopefully TAPK will have enjoyed this and won a good few thousand to boot
August 22, 2012 at 13:38 #410463Brilliant stuff. As soon as i saw the result i thought i’d come on here and offer my congratulations. I hope your old fella was on aswell. However i have a feeling that money or no money, the most important thing for a change was just for the horse to actually win. That must have been the most incredible win ever.
August 22, 2012 at 13:48 #410465I don’t usually shout home a handicap winner, especially one I haven’t backed. But did with Tax Free, with you and your Dad in my mind Gord.

P.S.
Get on Dundonnell for the 2000 Guineas. 25/1 with Laddies.
Value Is EverythingAugust 22, 2012 at 13:50 #410466Ginger: That Prince Khaled home bred looked very classy indeed and took an eternity to pull up which is always a good sign! I know the Johnston yard think very highly of Steeler so this was a cracking run!

Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
August 22, 2012 at 21:05 #410562Thanks again to you guys, very thoughtful of you all and it was very pleasing to see the old Bugger just get home.I know betting in sprints is a lottery but I’ve always had a soft spot for them and a bigger one for
Tax Free
,he’ll make them all go in the Ayr Gold Cup on that form today.I spoke with my Father after the race and it was another emotional moment but one that will stay with me forever now, thank God my Fathers still here to witness it as it would have been a kick in the teeth if he hadn’t witnessed todays brave performance.
Thanks again,
Gord.August 22, 2012 at 21:24 #410568Now then, its humble pie time yet again as the monster known as
Frankel
beat a couple of closely matched decent Group 1 performers in a canter today over a trip he handled effortlessly.Todays performance at last shows this fellow is not just the Best Miler ever but
The Greatest Racehorse Ever
and its only taken me 2 years to realise it and 13 races!
This fellow will get a 11/2m stood on his head and again todays performance proved that, its what those of us stupid enough to question his brilliance wanted to see and we got it.The only thing that will stop him running in the Arc will be soft ground and if he does turn up we all know the result,it would be the icing on the cake for me as I’ve always maintained to be the Greatest you have to have versatility and finally we saw just that today,he settled beautifully and travelled effortlessly,it was an Awesome display of Brilliance and easily his best performance to date.
It has to be said that for everyday I’ve questioned the horse our fellow contributorJonibake
has been bang on with his assessment, including another Bullish post about his chances this afternoon,he is without doubt Frankels biggest fan and made an 8 hour round trip to see his horse today! Well done Joni I remember our long conversations over the winter of 2010 about him and you have been proved right, right right.I was wrong wrong wrong and that is the understatement of the year! What a way to be proved wrong though eh? TAPK does have a whole tenner on him at 27’s for the Arc though!
August 22, 2012 at 21:38 #410575Touched to read that Gord. One of your greatest qualities is that you always hold your hand up if you don’t get it right.
I have been wrong about so many horses so many times so it’s nice to get ONE right.
