Been shopping around for decent early prices, but most firms not playing ball (understandably), and prices offered are what I’d expect on Saturday night anyway.
Three main fancies right now, and if the price is right, then I’ll probably do a three pronged attack on it over the next 12 months……
Escaria Ten
Galvin
Time To Get UpI really can’t split the three of them this far out.
Time To Get Up could easily be favourite on Saturday night, regardless of how this years renewal goes, and I think he’ll have a massive 21/22.
Galvin I’ve followed since Day One. I think he’s worthy of running in Gold Cup, but feel they might go Cross Country route with him. Similar sentiments apply to Escaria Ten.
Other potential candidates….
January Jets – Just like this horse, and he looks ideal for the bigger handicaps next year, and in good hands.
Janidil – Could very well go Graded route, certainly given his win at the weekend, but with the ammo in the yard, it’ll be interesting to see what they have in store.
Ontheropes – Haven’t forgotten him, for all his absence is a concern. If all well, an interesting horse for next year.
Stones and Roses – Like Ontheropes, another Mullins horse who’s not been seen for some time. He’s going to need a big performance off his current mark to even be considered, but I like him, and I hope all is well with him.
The Shunter – Purchased by JP, who knows what they’ll target him at. Top Handicaps? Grade 1’s? Who knows, but I love this horse, for all I’ve never bet him. Interesting year ahead.
Escaria Ten
Galvin
Time To Get UpApril 8, 2021 at 14:16 #1534955Next Destination looks tailor made for this race to me
Owners had pleasant company finish second think this guy could win it for them
April 8, 2021 at 14:25 #1534959Agree with that completely FF, I could even see Next Destination go the Gold Cup route, I think he’s got enough potential.
I had….
Coko Beach
Next Destination
Phoenix Way
Run Wild Fred
Sporting John
The Ferry Master….all on the shortlist, and all in the opening post as well, but I thought I’d better keep it short as possible, and edited them out before posting. I could have rambled on all day lol.
April 8, 2021 at 18:17 #1535041I don’t bet this far out, with the 2021 National still to run, but do you think after Tiger Roll got beat in the Betway Bowl, that the handicapper will give them some leeway for next year. Then like Red Rum did in 1977 come back to win.
The best things in life are free.
But you can give them to the birds and bees.April 8, 2021 at 18:45 #1535046I’ve got three in mind with a view to next year.
Clondaw Castle looks like he might be going the graded route, but after his Kempton win I immediately penciled him in for this. I just hope they don’t inflate his mark.
Snow Leopardess could be anything and I was really hoping a spin in the Topham would get things ticking towards a go in the National next year. I’ll be interested to see how things go on Saturday.
I’ve always had the National in the back of my mind for Lil Rockerfeller and I reckon Neil King has too. An entry in the Bet365 Gold Cup could be a sign of intent and I hope next season is centered around chasing and hopefully a go in this.
April 8, 2021 at 18:45 #1535047If i was the handicapper I’d put tiger roll up a pound ….just to **** O’Leary off
April 8, 2021 at 18:48 #1535048Next Destination or Latest Exhibition for me. I’ll maybe throw a few pounds on this during the summer, but I won’t jump in straight away.
April 8, 2021 at 19:45 #1535056Play nicely, HDLG But you’re probably right, smells like a plot job to me.

But you can give them to the birds and bees.April 8, 2021 at 20:02 #1535059Like it, HDLG!
April 8, 2021 at 21:55 #1535086Longhouse Poet or Castlebawn West would be two I’m interested in at this early stage.
April 9, 2021 at 12:46 #1535180It seems it isn’t just me who thinks the front three of ‘The Artist formerly known as The Four Miler’ are smart.
BUY THE SUN
April 11, 2021 at 09:37 #1535821Unlike most of yesterday’s runners, it’s going to be difficult for the handicapper to hike Any Second Now,s rating. Having been hampered badly and lost ground so far out and yet finished in amongst the leaders.
Value Is EverythingApril 11, 2021 at 09:40 #1535822I hope he like hurdles ginge , cause he ain’t going to see another fence until Liverpool next year !
April 11, 2021 at 13:44 #1535874Well he “legally” has to have one go HDLG but that’s what the Webster cup is for, in his case, whilst the Mullins hopefuls who are already high enough to get in have a schooling gallop round the Bobbyjo.
April 11, 2021 at 14:00 #1535880I’ve backed an Irish 1, 2, 3 at 1/20.
BUY THE SUN
April 11, 2021 at 18:44 #1535919Ladbroke and Coral first to price up.
As much as it goes completely against how I normally approach it, with him having already been over the fences, Any Second Now looks fair at 20’s. Think I could wait though with that, surely get better.
The 25’s Galvin, and 33’s Escaria Ten are the standouts to me, thought they’d be way shorter.
Very surprised to see Time To Get Up not quoted yet.
Haven’t put any money down, I’d rather wait till after Saturday with Galvin, but the plan is still the trio of…..
Escaria Ten 33’s
Galvin 25’s
Time To Get UpApril 11, 2021 at 19:41 #1535932365 have it priced up too vtc and galvin is 33s
