Managed to get 130’s on the Exchange about Acapella Bourgeois and 55/1 price boost on the Sportbook. That’s me until closer the time.
Potter’s Corner 33/1ew
Lord Du Mesnil 66/1ew
Bellshill 50/1ew
Acapella Bourgeois 130’s win and 55/1ewFebruary 13, 2021 at 16:56 #1522964Hi Botchy, what do you mean by the trainer requesting a handicap mark for Champagne Classic?
February 13, 2021 at 20:31 #1522984“That pair are the sort who, if you listed something on gumtree for fifty quid, would text asking if you would take a tenner for it. God loves a trier but hates a chancer as my old workmate used to say…”
Quite, Greengrass. Wish they would sod off asap and save us listening to their nonsense.

February 13, 2021 at 22:48 #1522987I just checked and it is not there now but he was ” highlighted “in the new ratings either Monday or Tuesday. Maybe not requesting a handicap mark, but confirmation of it’s handicap mark might be more likely.
I might be wrong but when the new ratings come out in Ireland any changes are usually highlighted in black that have changed. Normally i spend 5 minutes looking through them and can’t recall him being highlighted for a good while which might lead one to suspect they asked for confirmation of his handicap mark. Weights are out on Tuesday so i don’t know, just thought it was interesting.
February 13, 2021 at 22:58 #1522988Must of been Monday when i backed him looking at the earlier post.
February 14, 2021 at 07:37 #1522993Weights will tell us more tomorrow
February 14, 2021 at 10:34 #1522995Thanks Botchy
Here’s hoping Gordon can get him there in one piece, if he does then I really like his chances
February 15, 2021 at 22:59 #1523206Final bets before weights out…..
Any Second Now 32’s
Bellshill 40’s EW NRNB
Champagne Classic 110’s
Sub Lieutenant 330’s
Talkischeap 140’sFebruary 16, 2021 at 13:23 #1523270Happy enough with the weights for my four, all under eleven stone. Struggling to put lines through some of these, so I’m predicting Some Neck (68) to be the cut off point. That said I have a habit of undercutting these!
February 16, 2021 at 13:53 #1523275Kauto Riko at 75 has a squeak of getting in. Might be one for the Ultima instead as it will be touch and go for this.
February 16, 2021 at 15:50 #1523301I think that’s it’s a strong looking entry this year.
I’ve came down on three here, who with the bonus of nrnb, make me happy to have an early bet. Farclas and Ok
Corral are both 33-1 nrnb, and I think that the 40-1 nrnb for The Jam Man is worth taking too.February 16, 2021 at 17:30 #1523313They can’t have been many Hennessey winners got into the same years GN with only 10 5 on there back , cloth cap is the hcap stand out , apart from that I’ll be playing bellshill and definitely red at this stage , Elliott made a point of mentioning Milan native ….smokescreen or is the main hope ?
February 16, 2021 at 17:55 #1523314This is my GN ew 5 place stable…
Burrows Saint 22-1. 10 stone 13
Any Second Now 22-1. 10 stone 9
Potters Corner 35-1. 10 stone 6.
Cloth Cap 25-1. 10 stone 5.
Secret Reprieve 22-1 nrnb. 10 stone 1.February 16, 2021 at 21:49 #1523336Going back over the weights I’ve found myself mulling over a few more Irish contenders. Chris’s Dream has plenty of class and his win in the Troytown a couple years back showed his aptitude for this sort of test. There may be better treated runners in this, but he still could be of interest. Magic Of Light has been in rare form once more this season and it’s difficult not to be tempted, especially when you consider her only being 5lb higher in the handicap than when runner up two years ago. Might be one for the morning of. The one that is really appealing at the prices is Cabaret Queen. Was disappointing in the Thyestes last time out, but being a previous winner of both the Kerry and Munster National makes her a really interesting runner. 100/1 is a mad price that I might take advantage of for a small wager. She’d be my closest to a fifth bet at this stage.
February 16, 2021 at 22:13 #1523342Caution is advice when backing one of these.
Burrows Saint (10st 13lb)
Talkischeap (10st 12lb)
Anibale Fly (10st 12lb)
Al Roc (10st 9lb)
Ok Corral (10st 8lb)
Champagne Classic (10st 8lb)
Articulum (10st 7lb)
The Long Mile (10st 4lb)
Death Duty (10st 1lb)
Beau Bay (9st 7lb)
Bellow Mome (9st 2lb)As they not qualified yet for this year’s National.
To qualify they must have run over fences at least once this season & at least three times in their career. They also have a top 4 placings in a chase of at least 2 miles 7.5 furlongs.

February 17, 2021 at 00:11 #1523350Thanks, very informative @Redrum, not a race i attack from an antepost perspective but i was very keen on Burrows Saint last year when cancelled.
The Bobbyjo is earmarked as his next race along with Acapella ( last year’s winner). It’s over 3m1 so hopefully he’d qualify there! Their last main hope Rathvinden took this on route to finishing 3rd.
Tends to be a small field so finishing first 4th should really be achieved!
