No Mark tt competing in the cotswold chase is not a major negative. What a strange thing to say.
Made even more the strange coming from a man who thinks presenting percy will win the gold cup.
I can assure you no horse in history started his gold cup winning season in a galway hurdle race.
Potato once Presenting Percy gives Elegance Escape a good beating will he then become your new favourite horse?
Plodalong Percy may or may not turn up for the gold cup. 50/50 imo
After they all see how fat he is in this hurdles race the colin tizzard 2nd string Nasty River could be the new gold cup favourite by this evening.
I know it was only a hurdle race but you can’t not be impressed with presenting Percy today. Must admit I thought he would come 3rd/4th running on as a warm up race. But it’s stayed on so well to win today and he had so much against it today. Running against fit horses and this was his debut this season. Had longer off the track than usual. Better opposition this season than when he won this race last season. Seriously impressed.
I agree jas, i liked that there today, was very good, again its nor a prep im a fan of, but it worked last time, im sure he will be fine again

Hats off Presenting Percy looked superb today beating below top class hurdlers in a hurdles race around gowran.
The stayers hurdle looks winnable this year and he would go there with a chance.
Pp couldn’t lose today or win today no matter what happened. A hurdles race is ultimately much ado about nothing in the context of the blue rib and of chasing.
As for the gold cup? The horse has ran in 5 novice chase races. Not ready for the test he will meet.
The legend will give him the biggest beating of his life if he is stupid enough to turn up.

FROM THE ELEGANT ONE
PP was good today, happy with that. Setting aside the 10-12 horses between PP and EE in the market, nothing makes me doubt that PP will smash EE at Cheltenham this year as he did last year.
I’m just in the door from Gowran today. Presenting Percy was far from fat as our resident lunatic described him, and the race he won was as good a 3mile hurdle as has been run anywhere in the UK or Ireland this season.
Percy probably ran just below his best hurdle form but it was good enough to win today.
The 2nd horse doesnt stay 3.miles and the 3rd was sighted only by telescope in last years gold cup before eventually being pulled up before he was about to got lapped after 18 fences.
I think the Tizzards sleep well tonight
Today’s race was far from a formality for PRESENTING PERCY.
BAPAUME has the Stayer Hurdle, KILLULTAGH VIC the Ryanair or Gold Cup, LIMINI the Mare’s Hurdle or Stayers Hurdle. All within a couple of lengths so he had to keep up his pace all the way to the line.

Came 2nd in a 3m1f grade 1 in France on soft at the end of last season- beating Alex de Larredya amongst others. Finished today’s race like a stayer and was race fit unlike Presenting Percy. OK it isn’t top top form but Killultagh Vic and Limini aren’t bad hurdlers either.Greenasgrass, Potato is just trying to belittle the opposition to Elegant Escapes because he’s backed it, probably put the mortgage on or something similar
.EE has an outside chance, but in last year’s Ryanair was firmly put in his place by PP. Who if turning up fit and well should confirm the placings. However the danger lies in Clan Des Obeaux IMO

Hasn’t he already done that, or did I imagine last year’s RSA?
the 3rd was tailed off and pulled up after the 18th in last years gold cup.
I can actually see PP bettering that in this years gold cup and maybe if the race cuts up to 8 runners and 4 of them dont complete the course then it could definitely hang on for 4th place with a bit of luck in running.
Elegant Escape has caught up and passed Presenting Percy as a chaser.
It is at is. EE is much better now.
PP showed zero.improvenent on his run in the same race last year. Initial signs are he hasn’t developed.
Would be better off switching to stayers hurdle.
