Raz De Maree could almost be a win bet for me here, but at 25/1 with 7 Places, each way it is.
Ron’s Dream was once said to be the best horse in the Bowen yard, so I can’t help but feel her hurdling career was just part of her route to winning a race like this. Looksnowtlike brian means I will have to back a horse with an awful name [hate doing that].And I always back Sophie Leeches horses as I love trainers in the Clive Brittain tilting at windmills mould. Really looking forward to the race, although Chepstow is one track that I never want to return to; just don’t like the layout at all. I’m sure I’ll be throwing lots more pennies at other runners in the race as well, though. [just saw that Dawson City has Gunner B in his pedigree; I love just looking at the pedigrees of these old staying chasers never mind having bets; Supreme Leaders and Old Vics etc.]

The super horse just did what needed to be done today。
The gold cup remains bang on schedule and with 2 of the last 8 gold cup winners having been welsh national winners then the team can only take positives from that today.
I would guess EE will be rated 166+ after that run. A grade 1 win pre festival and he is in the 170s ratings wise and at that point even stevie wonder will realise what he is dealing with here.
March 15th is what it’s all about
He hasnt a hope of being a 170 horse lol and that stat will be 2 from 9 this year
But well done on the day! Quite fancied him for that today but didnt back him! For the most part jumped well!
Not so sure about the Gold Cup, potato, but he’s an absolutely classic prospect for a modern day Grand National and 20s looks generous. Has that touch of class, his jumping is improving, stamina looks boundless and he’s all guts.
He can win a grand national but it wont be til the 2023 running of the race.
He is only 6 years old. The RSA chase was a superb experience for him last year. He got beat by a horse who was more developed than him on the day but Presenting Percy will prove no match for the older, wiser even better and still improving all the time legend that is Elegant Escape.
Tizzard is developing into the greatest trainer of staying chasers in the game. I dont believe there would be any chance whatsoever that Tizzard would send Elegant Escape to the grand national as a 7yo.
There are gold cups a plenty to be won before he announces himself as the greatest chaser of all time following 4 gold cup wins and a grand national.winner.MOVE OVER RED RUM, KAUTO STAR and ARKLE

Yes, Elegant Escape delivered. I think they will go the same road as Native River and have a crack at the Gold Cup. Maybe Tizzard will go Gold Cup with Native River/Elegant Escape and Thistlecrack will end up in the RyanAir.
Good performance today but entitled to win that 4lb well in. No disrespect but that race doesn’t compare to the King George and there is another young pretender for Elegant Escape to think about in Clan Des Obeaux, who is clearly improving at a rate of knots. Should be another cracking line up in March.
Obviously a grade 3 hcap chase doesnt compare to the king George which is a grade 1 chase.
EE won very easily imo today and could have won by any amount more had he pushed for it. No need to do that though, had a relatively easy race as far as 3m5f races go. EE is being trained to peak in March we haven’t 3ven got close to discovering how good he is yet.
The king george winner must always be respected in the gold cup but Might Bite has gone at the game, Tea For Two is also past his best, Double Shuffle is more grade 2 than grade 1,Politilogue didnt stay the trip.
Tizzards supporting cast thistlecrack surely isnt as good as he was and Native River probably lost something in that epic duel last year with night bite and perhaps isnt as good as he was.
Tizzard has a new number 1 and his name is Elegant Escape.
Clan De Obeaux can only beat what was put in front of him but realistically it wasn’t the best grade 1 going and was a weak race by king george standards.
CDO doesnt have festival experience, EE’S lesson behind PP last year at the festival will prove invaluable this time round.
I’m looking for dangers to EE yet all I can see is Road To Respect.
