What a fantastic staying performance by Paisley Park. Happy to see Sam Spinner back again.
March 14, 2019 at 15:44 #1402022Well done Peter! Deserve a
for that.
Am happy with 2/1,
but it could’ve been a 50/1 winner.
Great to see my ex, Emma having a big winner (ex as in ex local trainer).
Have given Joe Colliver plenty of stick in the past, have to say couldn’t have ridden a better race there.
Value Is EverythingMarch 14, 2019 at 15:45 #1402023WD Peter H and all other PP backers.
Sam Spinner gave a good go and WD anyone on him EW.
Faugheen ran a good race probably just past his prime
Bapaume given too much to do in a big field but probably would have only finished 3rd if ridden a bit closer to the pace; wouldn’t have won.March 14, 2019 at 15:47 #1402024Yes good ride by Colliver. Made it a proper race.
March 14, 2019 at 15:48 #1402025Just brilliant.
The right winner, and a big run from Sam Spinner, absolutely perfect outcome.
Great shout Peter
March 14, 2019 at 15:53 #1402027tbh Bapaume is always held up out the back, gives up once having a clear view of the front – with a poor win/run ratio for one of his talent. Bapaume actually got past Faugheen close home for 3rd and then lost it. This was a truly run race and Townend did what’s right for the horse.

Charles Darwin to conquer the World
March 14, 2019 at 15:59 #1402031Thanks folks. I’m just a little besides myself.
Just calling back to a post from Wexfordman in December…
“None of the horses running in the long walk today will run into a place in the stayers hurdle in March.”
I don’t suppose you were on the forecast?
