April 2, 2018 at 07:53 #1348854Poor record in this
Forever Gold has scrapped in at the bottom. Likes FH and bottomless 33s
April 2, 2018 at 08:33 #1348855Monbeg Notorious 14s, Bellshill 20s. And Snow Falcon 22s each way 6 places. Tempting to do more but will stick with 3.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!April 2, 2018 at 21:35 #1348883Well done those who had General Principle.
That was a very gruelling race and Kemboy couldn’t even get over the 1st fence. Monbeg Notorious was never travelling the way I wanted to see him and it was just a question of time.
Bellshill gave it a great go and I think it was a bit harsh that he was disqualified. You can only do so much when a horse has given his all and wanders under pressure.
As the song went “Don’t it make my brown eyes blue” and he fell at the 5th
A very tough renewal with only 8 finishers. Is it ever dry in Ireland?
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
April 2, 2018 at 21:44 #1348885WD everyone with the winner…and every horse that got round.
April 3, 2018 at 16:18 #1348969Can’t recall a finish as complex as that; Bells Hill would have won without slowing + straddling the last, Isleofhopeanddreams if the race was 50 yds shorter, Forever Gold if the race was 50 yds longer, + Folsom blues if the race was 100 yds longer; great handicapping over 3 miles 5 furlongs
April 3, 2018 at 21:46 #1349003It was a crazy finish Betfair, but a fantastic one at that. At first I was cursing my luck with Arkwrisht, but Folsom Blue must go down as the unlucky loser
April 6, 2018 at 15:09 #1349221Finally got round to watching this (busy week) on YouTube.
I know it’s not easy, but what a rotten commentary that was by O’Hehir. Only eight finished, but you’d not know it if you had it audio-only. He barely mentioned any fallers, certainly didn’t mention any pulled-ups. That, to me, is a basic requirement of commenting a big National. You have nine minutes to fill. Telling us the first three only for eight of those minutes is not, to me, a good commentary.
Folsom Blue would have won if not impeded and he has barely mentioned the horse’s name.
April 11, 2018 at 15:54 #1349781I have to agree with you Quelle Farce. It was not his finest hour. We aren’t blessed with too many top drawer commentators over here, but he really got the basics wrong. I would excuse him the multitude of mud splattered Gigginstown silks.
Aside from that though, I also agree about Folsom Blue, and it really was a great finish
