Stevecaution – I believe Might Bite would win a renewal on better ground. There is only so fast a horse like Native River can go. As a Welsh National winner you would be doubtful he would be able to draw the sting out of a finisher the way it can be done in testing conditions.
Bear in mind Steve that Native River’s time was quicker on the final circuit than the Grand Annual handicap over 2m. He’s far from slow. His Newbury run was quick in comparison to Altior’s also. Just because he comes off the bridle it doesn’t mean he’s slow.
