A lovely mature horse AND a baby – that’s all the bases covered.

Why does anyone hang on every word of this obvious marketing spiel as if it’s gospel, still less regurgitate it here?

The formbook has the facts, O’Brien merely supplies the flannel.

Once I’d done “me sums” I managed to get a lump of 15.5 Bucanero Fuerte in the frenetic moments after he stormed the Phoenix.

I make it the best 2yo form in Europe so far this year and, though he’s clearly very fast, he’s improving and the pedigree gives me hope he might train on and get a mile next year, so I couldn’t not do.

Little Big Bear all over again?

    We shall see!

Well done Ian getting that, I was a bit slow off the mark but i managed
to get 12/1. He’s got to have a great chance, I’ve not seen anything better
    this season.

    Bucanero Fuerte 12/1 Paddy Power.

I am on the move and have not seen the race. But if the good judges here say he was impressive then that is good enough for me.

I still believe in City Of Troy but I have added Bucanero Fuerte at 12/1 on the Sportsbook.

Don’t think todays winner will get near city of troy who has only had two runs. Ground accentuated the win today.

I suppose the question is will he train on

Wooton basset was an undefeated champion 2yo who didn’t train on

Some of his progeny progress some don’t

Be interesting to see how he gets on at the back end

I don’t look at this race really until the national stakes, dewhurst and the futurity

Those 3 races are usually the key guide to finding the winner of this

I try my best to wait and not get sucked into backing the impressive precocious 2yos at this stage or earlier most of them simply don’t train on or don’t stay

The last one to win this as well as a big 6f 2yo race I can see was dawn approach in 2013 who was precocious enough to win the Coventry

But he did also win key trials in the dewhurst and national stakes

    Fair comment, FF91.

For me, it’s all about the price and I knew 15.5 wouldn’t last so I took it.

    Will he stay a mile?

    Will he train on?

At 15.5 it didn’t cost that much to find out.

The likelihood of fast types training on is lessening due to so many stallions being best at a mile and under. I hope justify takes off as a stallion as we need more stallions who at least stay 10f IMHO.

    “Will he stay a mile?”

If its him and Henry Adams the only two that turn up then yes

Apparently there’s a chance city if troy runs on dirt

“Updates elsewhere on other stable stars with City Of Troy potentially set to run on the dirt at Santa Anita in the autumn before being brought back for a Triple Crown campaign in Europe next season”

    From sporting life

He’s a justify I suppose but il believe that when I see it

    Would be interesting

They’d surely be tempted by the kentucky derby if he were to win

Just call me Mike – Aidan O’Brien said: “Henry Longfellow will come here next week for the Futurity and City Of Troy will come here for the National Stakes. Ylang Ylang won’t come next weekend, she’ll go straight to the Moyglare.”

I had a long conversation with a top American breeder after skip anchors derby win and he thought the best cross was 10f colt with miler filly.

Nathan asked: “What did he say about where Henry Adams is going?”

O’Brien added: “Henry Adams is the only 2yo in my yard who Democracy can get off the bridle on the gallops. Though that’s mainly because Henry Adams comes off the bridle walking round the paddock. The 2025 Queen Alexandra Stakes is Henry Adams’s long-term target, while there’s a nice little Class 6 Handicap at Brighton Democracy might be able to win if he can jump off ten clear at a flip start in sea fret.”
