Good idea we would probaby get more sense out the horse

Quite simply I can’t see what he has done to impress you so much. He certainly hasn’t showed the turn of foot normally assiciated with 2000 guineas winners.
Fist, i like your sense of humour, so i dont take offense at your comments,
but what impresses me about the Master more than anything is the amount of physical improvement i expect to see in him. Anything he achieved as a 2yo was a bonus, and he achieved enough to be a guineas horse already. He is a fine specimen of a racehorse who will "Grind" the
others into submission because of his huge stride! Art Connessieur has a
potent turn of foot but will it still be there to unleash after a gruelling mile
at Newmarket?March 21, 2009 at 19:30 #217736In defence of Mastercraftsman his last couple of runs were on ground which he didn’t seem to like. His best performance came on fast ground when he thumped Art Commisioner.

Agreed Ian but he certainly can handle it if nescessary, which Naaqoos must have and would be my only threat if the ground did turn soft!

I think the Prix Morny might have a bigger bearing on this race than we think and Naqoos didnt seem to perform that day with the likes of Bushranger and Lord Shanakill taking a strong hold on the race. Naqoos didnt seem to be staying on well at all that day.
I’ve always been really impressed with Mastercrafstmans massive stride and feel that he goes great fresh. He’ll be the one to beat.
March 21, 2009 at 23:03 #217762Guys old "Fistycuffs" is just trying to wind me up with his comments regarding Mastercraftsman! The Gospel according to Fisty has proved on more than one occassion on these pages that its a bit like reading "the tales of contrary mary"!!
March 21, 2009 at 23:18 #217765Last year I had HenryTheNavigator at 20’s 3 weeks before it started off at 11’s, the fact it won the Coventry tilted it for me. Plus I’ve never liked Bolger horses.
Currently I’m leaning towards Crowded. House
March 22, 2009 at 03:17 #217792Everytime I look at this race I come up with a different horse that I like the look of, its completely wide open.
I wouldnt say Mastercraftsman is without a chance, but he’s never appealed to me and I wouldnt back him.
I may just wait until the day as at the minute theres about 20 that I like, and think that it looks like a weak year where there a load of horses rated about 115 so I would think it’ll probably be the one with most in his favour on the day that comes out on top in quite a close race. Saying that I thought that last year.
March 22, 2009 at 03:25 #217796I agree Bul’ it is very open…I have alighted on Arazan.
The National Stakes needs ignoring (not unreasonable on that ground) and he obviously is reminiscent of his sibling Azamour but is slightly more speedily bred and his trainers comments would be comparitively more positive at this stage. As long as its not too firm I think he might well win.March 22, 2009 at 04:37 #217804In defence of Mastercraftsman his last couple of runs were on ground which he didn’t seem to like. Because of this – if Newmarket turns out flat and firm on the day, I would imagine Mastercraftsman has the best chance of winning at all this year in the 2,000 Guineas.
He’s worth consideration on that point alone.
March 23, 2009 at 00:13 #217930Well having just watched Mastercraftsman working at the curragh with a dozen stable companions, all i can say is thank goodness i dont bet horses on what they achieve in their homework, he finished a good 10l behind his lead horse in 4th place, showing nothing more than the fact he is now a very imposing 3yo who has undoubtedly filled out during the winter! Black bear island cheered me up with his homework, this fellow has
Derby written all over him, but the eye catcher for me was the very smart
looking Age of Aquarius, he looks the real deal! we shall see! Interesting
as i have included these three in my 5 to follow on another thread!March 23, 2009 at 00:17 #217936Who was he working with GWilson?
I heard Westphalia finished 3rd in that workout too and may be aimed at the French Guineas?

March 23, 2009 at 00:31 #217944I watched it on ATR, The Master galloped over 7f, his 2 lead horses went
a steady gallop and just extended their lead in the last 2 furlongs,Poet finished 1st with Windsor palace 2nd and the tenderly ridden Westphalia
finishing just in front of the Master in 3rd!
3rd lot saw Rip van Winkle shake his cobwebs off but yet again the gallop
was indecisive other than he too looked well, again he finished 4th behind a
colt called Stately home, they worked over 1m.March 23, 2009 at 00:35 #217946I watched it on ATR, The Master galloped over 7f, his 2 lead horses went

(I’ve got cheap Freeview lad in my flat, so no ATR
)March 23, 2009 at 00:35 #217947Do you get ATR on Setanta Sports?
March 23, 2009 at 00:36 #217948Would you say maybe the shorter trip made it more diffucult for him?
We all know New Approach needed a longer trip to show his class last year…
