I thought Id throw my lot in here as a Northants sufferer..
Just preparing for more of the same..
I think..they were close twice..and thats it.March 29, 2025 at 08:47 #1725054Lancashire 7/4 to win Division 2.
We really ought to walk it with our team and 7/4 might not be a bad price. However, I am not sure it is worth tying up money until the end of September for those odds of reward. I can probably find a similar value 7/4 chance running today.
Difficult to see beyond Surrey again in Division 1 but I hope Sussex do well on their return to the top league.
March 29, 2025 at 17:56 #1725127Sadly after following Somerset home and away since I was young enough to walk I’ve officially given up with Cricket
The format of fixtures is diabolical although does produce more results.
The 100 nonsense has finished me off.
Does everyone in the Championship play everyone twice?? If not it’s another nail in the coffin.

Not in Division One. They do in Division Two.
March 29, 2025 at 20:11 #1725137The Hundred, OMG, who thought that up should take the walk of shame.
Although the Indian owners are buying into the teams, so they must see something in it. Unfortunately Northamptonshire didnt get an invite to the party.
I used to enjoy the John Player League in the 70’s, twice a season Northants played at Brackley’s ground. Nothing like having straw bails as seating, obviously these days that would be a fire hazard.
Having visited the Northampton County ground for Football and Cricket, I think the last time I was there was to see the Climax Blues Band..Couldn’t get it right..March 29, 2025 at 22:33 #1725144“Not in Division One. They do in Division Two.”
Things like that are just basic for the integrity and fair for all surely
I understood when it was one big league it was tricky to accommodate … but my brain frazzles
John Player league was great. The out grounds were always a good day out
Somerset at Bath was one of the first things I looked for when the fixtures came outCharles Darwin to conquer the World
March 29, 2025 at 22:38 #1725145I went to Northants once for a twenty over QF which Somerset won. Something about the smaller grounds I liked they have a bit more character I find
They had a decent enough side back in the day Curtly Ambrose had a good stint there, he was an intimidating figure
I once asked him for his autograph to which he grunted at him and kept walking.Charles Darwin to conquer the World
March 29, 2025 at 23:35 #1725149Lancashire only has one County Championship match on an outground this season. At Blackpool, which seems to have taken over as their main other ground.
At least there are two 50 over matches at Aigburth, which appears to have been let back in from the cold.
Southport & Birkdale has lost out this season, with only two women’s XI fixtures.
April 2, 2025 at 18:35 #1725419Good to see Jos Buttler score a match winning 73 for the Gujarat Titans in the IPL right now.
Maybe Lancashire supporters will see him at Old Trafford again one day. I have almost forgotten what he looks like.
April 4, 2025 at 13:06 #1725840Lancashire win the toss, invite Middlesex to bat and at lunch they are 130/2! Not the sort of score you want to see after making that decision but at least we got Robson out 5 minutes before the break, when he was looking well set on 70.
No sign of James Anderson (injured, I believe).
April 4, 2025 at 19:03 #1725956A great fight back by Lancashire. Middlesex were 178/2 but bowled out for 260, with the Red Rose county 68/0 at stumps.
April 5, 2025 at 15:53 #1726246I’ve just took a peek at the scores …

April 12, 2025 at 18:44 #1727138I have been at Old Trafford today.
Genius decision by Keaton Jennings yesterday after winning the toss on a sunny day to ask Northamptonshire to bat and they rack up 496.

Lancashire 139 for 4 in reply, although Harris was perhaps unfortunate to get out to a sharp, low catch by Broad which was a certain boundary either side of him. At least Jennings is still there on 60.
April 12, 2025 at 19:01 #1727144Great stuff, after the Northants roll over against Kent last week, glad to see they know how to score now.
The weather may decide the outcome of this, draw most likely.April 13, 2025 at 08:07 #1727157Draw 1.3 on Betfair.
April 20, 2025 at 19:38 #1727776Another dismal effort by Lancashire today but if the forecast is correct, it looks like the Manchester rain will ensure an undeserved draw.
May 12, 2025 at 22:08 #1730213Lancashire managed to lose to Northamptonshire after throwing away a winning position. The Red Rose county is now bottom of the league after starting the season as 7/4 favourite!
