Maybe I should be the one visiting judging by the results…
October 2, 2017 at 11:16 #1319822I’ve had numerous 2nds this week, maybe my luck will turn in the Arc.
if you are hitting a lot of crossbars it shows you are a good punter, when mine lose they tend to either get lapped or are tailed off
having said that I had rory in the golf today and he finished second, frustrating as was a 1.9k swing 🙁
I had Paul Dunne EW for about £600 returns but laid off about £200 of it as I saw Rory mounting a challenge!

Hi Brixton, I know it hurts a bit when you lay off to cover your bet, and it comes in anyway, but
you definitely made the right decision. You are making yourself almost certain to get a good
return for either and that’s most certainly the name of the game in betting. I’ve no doubt if
you do this that the result will flip around some times, and then you’ll be patting yourself
on the back for being a smarty pants

Very true! And happy enough with the end result.
Hey Brixton boy well done and you should visit my golf thread on here at general sports on my sports bet thread
Will do! Had Tyrell Hatton EW too who looked nailed on to place but just missed out… still made a decent profit overall!
Apologies for thread disruption! Will head over to General from now on to discuss men knocking balls around with a stick
October 2, 2017 at 13:47 #1319845As far as the guineas is concerned I hope Clemmie doesn’t go to America
Would rather she take in the fillies mile and shut up shop for the seasonWhy not put her away now? Cheveley Park- Fillies mile would be an unusual route imo.
Yeah, they could do that as well.
I don’t see any problem with Clemmie not getting the mile of the guineas, breeding, training on etc looks all good and well and visually she looks more than capable of running to 7f at least for now doing good work at the end of her races. Do you think she will start at 7f next year or go straight to the guineas..?
I’m just not keen going straight into a guineas with a maximum of 6f under her belt, it’s a different pace to what she has raced at and no matter how much work she does at home it’s a different ball game on the track.
How many horses have won a guineas with previously only running at 5/6f…?Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026

October 2, 2017 at 21:55 #1319903Clemmie handled Newmarket incredibly well. She will win the Guineas. Expert Eye will win the Colts version and September will win the Oaks.
584/1 treble with Betfred..
Get on the trixie
October 2, 2017 at 22:01 #1319905Happily wins the Oaks, in my opinion.

October 2, 2017 at 22:44 #1319917Sorry I was a bit pissed earlier! Many apologies. Had a few too many at lunchtime
October 2, 2017 at 22:52 #1319921Fair enough, from someone who enjoys a pint or three at lunchtime sometimes myself

Had plenty of near misses on the golf myself, in all honesty I mostly follow tipsters now, most of whom had been failing recently until yesterday…
October 2, 2017 at 23:45 #1319927Clemmie was impressive in the Chieveley Park. Unlike Happily, Magical and September; clemmie is yet to have the opportunity of racing over the distance she’s bred for. Brother to Churchill and she’s the first Galileo to win at Group 1 level at 6f. Very, very few Galileo’s fail to stay 10f let alone 8. Added to that the way she runs – looked in trouble on Saturday before staying on again up the hill… Everything points to her being a better filly at a mile than 6f, there’s a good chance significantly better. Which is why I backed her for the 1000 after she won the Cherry Hinton. Only been kept at 6f at two because she’s the only one of Ballydoyle’s top class two year old fillies capable of winning at that trip and O’Brien is after the Group 1 World Record… That’s also probably why she’s a possible for the Breeders Cup.
Next Year I suspect September will be aimed at the Oaks. Magical may have reached her peak, Happily and Clemmie are likely to go for the Guineas and I am happy Clemmie will prove the best.
Value Is EverythingOctober 3, 2017 at 13:54 #1319980That’s what I was trying to say ginge but not as clearly written as you
What do you think ginge about if Clemmie runs in the guineas with previously only running to a max of 6f, cant be ideal that surely….?Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026

Crying out for 7f now and seems to settle well. There are certain trainers I’d be worried about going up from 6 to 8f like that; but look at AOB’s record. How many of his horses – particularly the Galileo’s – fail to settle when racing at a mile? Although it’s true to say no other Galileo has shown as much speed at two, the fact both her Guineas winning brothers stayed a mile no problem must be a good sign. Don’t really like the thought of going to USA for the mile juvenile, injury and all that… But it would get the jump from 6 to 8 out of the way. Overall though, fact she’s done so well at 6f must be a positive overall. Chances are she’ll improve a good deal at a mile. Not that she needs to to win an average Guineas. tbh 4/1 still looks massive to me.
Value Is EverythingOctober 4, 2017 at 23:36 #1320165I tend to go along with Nathan here. Although she’ll stay the distance she might not improve for it as much as you think.
Despite all the commentators saying that O’brien has the 1000 in the bag already I still think there’s room for something to come out of the woodwork.
October 5, 2017 at 15:06 #1320254tbh 4/1 still looks massive to me.
Betbright the only 4/1 left now. Get on!
Value Is EverythingOctober 25, 2017 at 19:13 #1323458I read that Clemmie won’t be going to America
which is a positive for this race if she stays at homeGaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
