You must be sweating blood if you’ve got a Clemmie 1000 Guineas ticket at any price. Vibes could hardly be any worse.
Vibes for the Guineas are 6 months away yet Soldier…Visuals are whats happening now and nothing looks better than Clemmie.
September 10, 2017 at 17:22 #1317222Not felt Happily win today felt need faster ground but happy she did not seen plans yet i like to her to be put away now
September 10, 2017 at 17:58 #1317233Ballydoyle market moves for the Moyglare can be understood.
Clemmie was favourite over Magical until it became clear going would be pretty soft. ie Clemmie was then a doubtful runner and therefore drifted badly in ante-post lists, whilst Magical – in the absence of Clemmie – was the preferred horse and shortens up in the ante-post market.
ie Clemmie drifting out to 5/1 for the Moyglare was nothing at all to do with how good she’s thought to be at home and everything to do with how likely she was of lining up today…
Clemmie is then declared to run and therefore shortens up again – because in day of race markets punters get their money back on non-runners and there’s a rule 4 to winnings. Bookmakers have to shorten her.
It is clear Clemmie is thought to be Ballydoyle’s best two year old filly at this stage. Even on the soft side of good shorter in today’s market than her stable companions before coming out. What price would she have been on a sound or firm surface?
Value Is EverythingSeptember 11, 2017 at 04:13 #1317270I think the first three are all high class fillies and wouldn’t be surprised if the all run well in the guineas. Happily looked to ein with a bit in hand but it all depends who improves from now to the guineas. Much improved run by September and if she trains on could be a big player in the Oaks.
September 16, 2017 at 13:52 #1317956I’ve asked betfair to add Nyaleti to the exchange market for the 1000
Reckon you’ll get 100’s if you put a price in, Ginge
Would that be outstanding value…?Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
September 29, 2017 at 15:54 #1319281Well Nyaleti was beaten again today but probably would have won with a more aggressive ride. Ftankie kicked and James Doyle was too late, not for the first time.
Nyaleti looks unlikely to progress over the winter.
Clemmie/Happily/Magical/September et al look much of a muchness so far. Clemmie’s last win has not worked out well, so I am discarding the lot of them.
Step forward the 1000 Guineas winner then and it’s Polydream, who will probably go off odds-on for the Boussac this weekend.
Freddy Head’s filly has won twice and her last race is excellent form, throwing up the May Hill winner and Laurens beat Nyaleti who was narrowly beaten in the Rockfel, so it’s franked form that’s been franked as well.
You would expect a good show for Polydream and a defeat for Clemmie to see the French filly favourite for Newmarket next spring.
Normally you might worry about the French horses coming over but Freddy Head has a couple of other nice fillies who could be aimed at the French versions and take Polydream to Newmarket for a winnable looking 1000 Guineas.
Running out of time for new contenders now so I’ve had a decent bet on Polydream at 16/1 and will hope she can do the business on Sunday to get the ball rolling.
Polydream 16/1 looks well worth a decent punt.

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
October 1, 2017 at 09:37 #1319579As far as the guineas is concerned I hope Clemmie doesn’t go to America
Would rather she take in the fillies mile and shut up shop for the seasonGaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026

Would rather she take in the fillies mile and shut up shop for the seasonWhy not put her away now? Cheveley Park- Fillies mile would be an unusual route imo.
October 1, 2017 at 11:12 #1319602Clemmie was impressive but when asked afterward if she was his best filly, Aidan sidestepped it…pause for thought.
October 1, 2017 at 13:08 #1319627We could know more today Joe. Magical is in the Boussac and, perhaps significantly, Happily is taking on colts in the Lagardere and is clear favourite for the race.
The other doubt with Clemmie would be not racing beyond 6F yet. She would be mighty short with that box ticked I feel.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
October 1, 2017 at 13:19 #1319629Wild Illusion won the boussac. Don’t think that was a great race. Could be Sobetsu mark II

That was very annoying for me. I picked Efadaah at 20/1 for the Boussac and Freddy Head pulled her out to go solo with Polydream. Wild Illusion was behind Efadaah last time, when they were 2nd and 3rd to Soustration.
Soustration was a bit disappointing today and was a surprise winner for me last time, given that Efadaah had beaten her comfortably when they first met. Efadaah was ridden differently second time up, coming from behind, after being in the lead almost all the way on debut.
Freddy Head had said Efadaah was the best filly he had had for a good while after she won. I think that he ballsed that up by not running her today. Polydream just stayed on at one pace today, hardly the first French horse this year to fail to catch a British trained runner ridden more prominently.
Olmedo got a better ride and at one stage I thought I had landed my 8/1 bet on him. Happily had looked beaten but kept staying on, as so many of these Galileo’s do, to wear him down.
I’ve had numerous 2nds this week, maybe my luck will turn in the Arc.

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

if you are hitting a lot of crossbars it shows you are a good punter, when mine lose they tend to either get lapped or are tailed off
having said that I had rory in the golf today and he finished second, frustrating as was a 1.9k swing

I had Paul Dunne EW for about £600 returns but laid off about £200 of it as I saw Rory mounting a challenge!

That’s because I doubt he can separate Clemmie or happily at home. Also when September gets good ground he will be like Alice springs and be a different horse. This is one of the strongest batch of 2yo fillies he’s had. Wouldn’t be surprised if the three mentioned win many group ones.
