I wouldn’t have backed the winner if 400/1 were available.

I couldn’t of backed her but
Had 3 lengths to make up with Laurens at Doncaster last year over a mile a winter can improve horses from 2-3 years old
Hannon would of used Nell Gywn as a prep like he/they did with Sky Lantern
The Nell Gye=wn winner possible better over 7f and Billesdon Brook a mile

    My 1-2-3 were 2-3-5.

I am disappointed about Laurens not winning but it’s refreshing to see a total outsider taking it to them and you can’t win if you have your horse at home in the box with a defeatist attitude.

Big turn arounds with Soliloquy and Altyn Orda from the Nell Gwyn for Billesdon Brook and yet again the Godolphin horses seem to have peaked in the trials, rather than in the race that matters.

Wild Illusion seems the one who may be the potential Oaks value horse. That was a good effort after a long time off and William Buick seems to be the king of the errant pick. 16/1 still showing for Epsom, where Lah Ti Dar has already shortened before her own race today. She could be skinny by 5PM

As I suspected Liquid Amber was nowhere near quick enough. I always felt her future lay over further. That really was a wasted journey over.

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

It makes a nice change to see someone else win apart from the big guns. Well done to team Hannon.

Not clemmies biggest fan but im inclined to agree, would probably have won cosily, laurens would have won with a prep, not sure why trainers try the obrien route.

That filly is tough as nails, showed it when winning from an impossible position at Goodwood last year…but on today’s showing she won it comfortably!

I was a Laurens backer so that was a bit of a shitter. I think Laurens definitely takes some big races this year, though.

Well my treble went up in flames, but a good weekend nonetheless. Soliloquy kept
on but was never going to threaten. Nausered, that was a sore one my friend, and it
looks like that holiday in Barbados will need to be put on hold. I doubt anyone saw
that coming and hard luck to all Laurens backers.

    What Hannon said 19th April

BILLESDON BROOK put up a solid performance in the group 3 Nell Gwyn Stakes. She was right there throughout but couldn’t sustain her run as she got tired. ‘The two fillies (other being ANNA NERIUM) have been working together during the winter and I was very happy with both performances. This filly will come on plenty for the run and will be very capable of landing a decent prize during the year.’

So she got tired being 1st run of the season and Hannon not going to have her 100% fit for a prep wanting her to come on for the outing. I suppose the sort of training in public to a degree is worth it for course experience and fitness edge
