I would forget the Champion Hurdle this year. Sea Pigeon won it as a 10 & 11 year old so he still has time. He needs a less high profile race to show he can jump again.
Have a flat campaign this summer. I would go for the Ormonde Stakes at Chester’s May meeting. A number of older horses such as Hamish have targeted this race over 1 mile 5 furlongs.
Then have a go at Royal Ascot in the Hardwicke Stakes or a crack at the Gold Cup. Depending how that went perhaps aim for the King George?
Forget the Melbourne Cup. He’ll fail the Vet checks with them!
