Labour does have a habit of thinking it is on the moral high ground, cloaking itself in virtue in opposition and portraying its rivals as not just wrong but as bad people – even immoral – as well.
When these posturing moral hypocrites are inevitably hoist by their own petard, it is difficult to muster any sympathy for them. I couldn’t blame anyone taking some sort of satisfaction in their fall.
And they never learn anything. When Labour goes back into Opposition in a few years time, it will start all over again. The same tired routine of how they are so much better than everyone and how only they can restore trust in public life. It is farcical.
