Townend said re Lossiemouth: “I was never comfortable on her. It surprised me that I actually got in with a chance at any stage. Everything was hard work today.”
Ricci: “She’s fine and I’ve just put it down as one of those days. We’re willing to just put a line through it and move on. She loves Cheltenham and she’s fine this morning [Monday], which is the main thing.”
On the big decision that needs to be made, Ricci said: “We’ll see how she comes out of the race and the next couple of weeks will tell a tale. I don’t mind running in either race, to be honest. She loves Cheltenham and I would say her best trip is probably two and a half, but it’s a wide-open Champion Hurdle, so we’ve got some decisions to make.”
