The market near the off strongly suggested What A Friend wouldn’t be winning, and so it proved….

There are lots of imponderables in this sport but lets get some of the easier ones out of the way :
There is no excuse for Paul Nicholls or anyone else writing a column in the trade paper and not telling the readers exactly what they know about their runners both good and more importantly bad and let the punters decide what to do with the information on the understanding that there can be no comebacks whetere the horse wins or loses……….but put the information out there or don’t bore us with your column.I always thought the people of Northern Ireland are Irish and not British but are UK citizens/subjects, unlike the Irish south of the border who are citizens of the Irish Republic.
Therefore, McCoy as a UK (United Kindom of Great Britain & Northern Ireland) citizen/subject could be knighted and would correctly be referred to as ‘Sir A.P….’
Why would Tony McCoy or Martin Pipe for that matter want to join the list of ‘knights’ that includes some eyecatchingly undeserving or ‘over promoted’ members ( Terry Wogan,Elton John,Mick Jagger,Tom Jones,Donald Sinden,Ben Kingsley) to name a few. The truly great don’t need this increasingly cheapened ,over used and discredited form of recognition.
Humour must be in short supply if that was one of the funniest lines ever IMO ( was Thommo not working that day (?!), and typically politically incorrect to put it mildly.In fact echoes of when Francome was made to apologise to Irish viewers for another ‘ hilarious’ crack ( not)
Great jockey with record to prove it but don’t forget the Banks indiscretions for which he was rightly banned.Impossible to compare eras but if you have to my impression is that McCoy and Walsh are achieving more.Entertaining contributor but generally hopeless tipster who concentrates too much on what a horse looks like without being able to assess what it has actually achieved, this is almost certainly through lack of preparation.
