A most bizarre story … livery yard owner thought they’d done the right thing ???? Even if they couldn’t load the mare and she was getting worked up why pts??? If she could be held to pts she could have been put in a stable or field to calm down … And then why dump her in the leasees garden??? Apparently she was still alive … Absolute nut cases .., one released no charge one on bail. The liveries at GG Equestrian need it get out NOW and never return under his ownership … Totally bonkers ….
I hope you do go to the Velka next year and write a detailed report – not much on here about it – only my thread in memorials I think …

This horse’s jockey Henry Derham has announced his retirement aged 19 and cited a loss of confidence after Fox Run’s fatal fall … I think that’s a very honest and brave statement to make …
I hope neither of them suffered … I hate any horse loosing it’s life in any way … but when they do I want them helped asap …
A real golden oldie/veteran in terms of appearances (although only 9 years old) – Galley Slave – his first fall I am led to believe in more than a century of runs – and youngster Alaplee … glad I wasn’t able to go – VERY upsetting for all concerned. RIP boys.
I’ve just checked Galley Slave’s record and it would appear that he pulled up around 7 times but completed all the other National Hunt runs … WHY couldn’t he come home today …????
