I think CC will take Goldikova’s crown, I dont think there is a better miler than CC at the moment.

There is talk of CC running next year as a 4 year old, the same as Dick Turpin. That has been said in the RP and by Hannon now.

Do you think they can they step up CC to 1m2f?

Again, I cant see past CC.

I backed him in the 2000 (Eng/Ire) and SJP, quite heavily and it payed.

RVW can only win by wearing CC down, not turn of foot or speed IMO.

But then CC never looks like stopping in his last 3 runs over 1 mile so…

RVW’s last run was nothing sort of shocking, but he won this race last year well and got within 1L of STS.

CC still for me though, but if RVW is in form, I fancy a scrap to the line.

I’m on Twice Over. Cant see him being beat once he gets going.

Sandown is a very similar track to ascot and he would have won there if he hadnt been pushed back IMO.

As long as he gets a decent position and holds it, I cant see him being beaten.

    Exactly as stated!

    Well well well…

I think Fleeting Spirit got beaten by her draw and subsequent far side in running, not Starspangeled…Or whatever its called.

Looking forward to them matching up at Newmarket.

Head to head on the same ground, I think the flying filly has it…

I can see Paco reveresing this result if Hughes didnt give Goldikova a 3L headstart. If he had got an opening beforehand Paco would have won this race, no question.

Paco Boy is in the form of his life putting on weight again according to the yard.

Not sure what happend to RVW. I think their tactics were to go at pace and wear the others done but RVW didnt finish himself.

One things for sure, Paco Boy vs. Goldikova will be one hell or a race!

If Fleeting Spirit runs her usual cracking race, she will win this. She’s mroe suited to 6f than 5f. How can anyone right off the July Cup winner?

I’m £100 ew at 10/1 on this little rocket!

My bet of the meeting was CC in the st. James. This is my second tip of the meeting people!

Xtension is 100% running. I spoke with the owner on Saturday at length. I said that I didnt think it would win the race and that CC beat it by 6L, but he then pointed out that Dick Turpin beat CC recently and Xtension beat DT by 4-5L previously.

Xtension is a solid EW bet at 18/1.

If this ground stays good/good to firm, I’d love to see EP win. But I dont think SNA will have a problem with the ground.

Just to add, I know the owner of Xtension fairly well. He has told me recently (last Sat) that Xtension has progressed very well and will be in the mix. The further the better upto 1m. He seems to finish very well and has an effective turn of foot.

    Fryern thank-you.

What are your thoughts on the race?

Does anyone really think SNA may not have progressed well moving into bein a 3yo under AOB?

Newmarket is expecting raing tomorrow, fri and saturday. The ground will not be good/good to firm. It will suit SNA and he will win comfortably. The odds of SNA have shortened because of it, EP has drifted slightly.

No doubt they will get a fair rematch on fast ground, but not this time.

Yeah, but will CC really get up that hill. I think thats where SNA and EP come into the mix in a big way. CC is more of a spinter (5,6,7f), not 1mile ending with a punishing up hill for the final furlong.

I cant see past SNA. He has more acceleration than EP, but may not be able to match EP’s speed/power. EP’s a larger horse and further than 1m will be better suited IMHO.

I dont think any other horse in the race can match SNA’s acceleration (maybe CC, but he wont get 1m) and if he gets up the hill (I dont think 1m is a problem at all) he’ll win comfortably. EP may get near him up the hill, but I think the race will be over by then.

I’d like EP too win as AOB dominates things most years. Just like I was happy to see Sea the Stars fight off every AOB trained horse he threw at him.

Has anyone got the race times of EP in the Craven, Sea the Stars in the 2000g 2009?
