How good is Viscount Nelson? Certainlky not amongst Ballydoyle’s best 3 yos. Do they really think he is good enough for this company?I will be amazed if he is in the first three. And in a six horse race!
Have they actually got any "best" 3yos?
I’m laying Twice Over at 2/1. Bit of a dog imo.
July 2, 2010 at 22:11 #304251If you think Daremi is good value at 3s then you might as well bet Twice Over at 2s. Daremi is a stayer more of a grinder not a 10f horse, if you don’t believe me look at the Vermeille last season she was outpaced and then stayed on past a non stayer in Stacelita similar scenario in the Arc.
Henry Cecils horses seem to be running well and Twice Over will take some stopping he was closing in the POW and will be primed for this.
The other potential candidate is Mawatheeq depends how much he needed the run last time and is a more likely contender than Daremi whos being tipped up everywhere like shes alreay won
July 2, 2010 at 22:55 #304262Also she was very much in the mix in what could turn out to be one of the best Arcs ever run (Youmzain and Fame & Glory appear thus far to be cementing the Sea The Stars form).
Might be a tad bit strong?!

Sadly Daremi had every chance in the Arc just stayed on one pace without any stamina doubts.
The fact that her 1st win in a maiden was over 10 furlongs should tell you everything you need to know about her chances tomorrow.
Very good filly no chance tomorrow 11/4 5/2 in places laughable lay all day!
July 3, 2010 at 09:18 #304304Think Zacinto will be suited by the 10 furlongs and he’s my tentative choice.
Somehow, I can’t see Dar Re Mi finishing in the first three.

Viscount Nelson
I don’t follow ballydoyle but this one needs to be backed.
July 3, 2010 at 11:09 #304322Hi Euro,Take the winner out of the Derby and who else has a three year old except Ballydoyle? They won the Dante and the Irish derby, you probably say that had nothing except Ballydoyle.Exactly my position. So VN does not represent Ballydoyle’s best 3yos.Their best ran in the irish derby. That is all I am saying.
July 3, 2010 at 12:19 #304333Richard Hannon has a couple of decent ones.
Viscount is actually a good price on form as is Mawatheeq. Backed both and cancelled the lay of TO.
July 3, 2010 at 12:25 #304334Why does he not enter them in the Eclipse ?
July 3, 2010 at 14:20 #304367dar re mi not even fit lol
well done twice over backers, beat sri putra nicely
July 3, 2010 at 14:30 #304368I’m on Twice Over. Cant see him being beat once he gets going.
Sandown is a very similar track to ascot and he would have won there if he hadnt been pushed back IMO.
As long as he gets a decent position and holds it, I cant see him being beaten.
Exactly as stated!
July 3, 2010 at 17:16 #304410I tried telling everyone to get on at 4’s, I hope you listened :0)!!
July 3, 2010 at 19:39 #304441Greta result for Henry Cecil in his special week of RP tributes. What a story.
Unlike some of his other rides for Warren PLace this year, Queally got the tactics surprisingly spot on. It was a risk as if they were outstayed by the mare the scribes would have been out in force.
I cannot help thinking, with a degree of pocket influence I must confess, that youn Buick migh have been better riding his filly hard to claim the rail and lead and then maybe set a different tempo – Queally clearly had the luxury of staking them up just before the home turn.
But in the end the best horse won. Whether he is up to winning against the best at 10f remains to be seen but you cannot begrudge Henry this deserved winner in a race he has had some cruel luck in down the years, Reference Point and Bosra Sham springing immediately to mind.
July 4, 2010 at 00:30 #304494Queally has come a long way since being befriended by Barney Curley.I cannot recall the exact details but he had a very chequered apprenticeship, finally ending up with Aidan O’Brien.
July 4, 2010 at 01:26 #304496Does the winner stay a mile and 2. Viscount Nelson was a Guineas horse and was staying on better than the winner. What is to be made of the form?

Twice Over certainly stays, but because he lacks a telling turn of foot he had to be ridden the way he was yesterday to ensure he wasn’t outsprinted at the finish. Consequently he had to do most of the donkey work early, and didn’t have much left in the closing stages. The 2nd was almost certainly highly flattered, and the 3rd (even with the visor) remains the one-paced plodder he’s always appeared – 0 from 7 above listed class, and unlikely to improve on it anytime soon.
Dar Re Mi plainly wasn’t fit (or even trying too hard), as hinted by her owners, and with Zacinto running no sort of race, the form looks exactly as it did before the race, a well below par renewal.July 4, 2010 at 12:03 #304556Your comments leads me to wonder how such a race could be a group one race. One paced winner, plodders, horses flattered and others unfit.Incidentally you made no comment on the last horse. Was he pulled up? The whole comment was a devistating reflection on the Coral Eclipse. I have to agree with you.In Ireland it would be called an egg and spoon race. Right? Henry picking up left overs. How sad.
