I think Jockey Club & ARC will be much more wary now of Chester Group clearly they have ambitions though the contract to run Musselburgh is only 10 years Doncaster council gave ARC a 99 year lease I believe, with such a short lease I wonder how much Chester will be prepared to invest.
@philwalker it depends on the contract Rtv have it will remain an Rtv track for the time being it will also be an indictor whether Chester race group are happy with SSR, Chester & Bangor are contracted until 2026 I think so it will be likely Musselburgh will transfer when the rights come up.
It is possible with all the issues over the last few years that the tv rights contract is not too long as it would have been the last things on their mind.
Also it could be the first Scottish track to change sides since Perth & Kelso swapped so all Scottish tracks fell under same broadcaster it could persuade Perth & Kelso to swap sides again.
I was watching Sky Sports Racing on a streaming channel showing the Dubai Racing channel as the picture was better than Virgin Media and they were broadcasting the off screen comments of Alex Hammond and guests so while Matt Chapman was broadcasting on the main broadcast we could hear Alex say to her guests “in a minute we will ask you for a selection and you don’t need to say anything else as there will be no time”.
I wonder if Alex and guests know there off screen comments were being broadcast on the Dubai channel live.
