Not sure I buy this Nick Luck, Lydia Hyslop, Chris Dixon, James Willoughby “we are your friends and joke and laugh” it just seems so false Rtv(Ruk) was always the boring serious channel and ATR the lads channel, Rtv trying to be all we down with the lads down the pub act just doesn’t work.
The addition of Jim McGrath to the SSR team is seemingly popular with racing fans on social media.
That sums it up really, Steve. It’s pathetic. Here you have a leading pundit on a subscription-based channel encouraging viewers to watch elsewhere. The entire nature of RTV has changed because it has acquired too many tracks to comfortably show on one channel on the big days. Surely it’s business suicide?
When ATR lost Ascot Matt Chapman stated that Ascot wasn’t that big a deal for the channel as most people would watch on Channel 4 and it was the unique courses that brought in the viewers, Rtv probably have the same view if they just showed Sandown and Haydock today and ignored the smaller courses why would people bother watching Rtv they would just watch itv, people want to see courses that they can’t elsewhere and people will more likely stay with rtv to see the other courses than switch to itv.
I was watching on Duabi Racing channel and was so pissed off that they kept switching to itv for no good reason and missed off Leicester a few times as the director forgot to switch back there was no need to change from rtv feed.
If you listened at the very beginning of Rtv racing this afternoon Dave Nevison stated that other channels would be covering Sandown and Haydock better than them today and he was concentrating his bets on the minor tracks, so even Rtv themselves were hinting watch itv if you want more indepth coverage of Sandown.
Wants the point in subscribing to RTV? Their coverage of The Eclipse was pathetic and would have been worse if sandown hadn’t been running late.
They should have ditched Chelmsford and Leicester to be shown later.
Thank goodness for ITV and I never thought I’d say that.Ditch two tracks who have only just swapped from their rivals? that make’s a lot of sense.
An RTV spokesman says: “Providing all races are run on schedule, split-screens will be kept to a minimum”.
1. It’s inevitable that not every race will go off on schedule.
2. Any split-screen is unacceptable.
They have been lucky so far the short race distances have been in their favour.
On a side note the idiot doing the directing on Dubai Racing Channel keeps flicking to itv and they have missed all Leicester races so far why do they need to flick just stay on Rtv

The irony of tomorrow is 3 courses Leicester, Chelmsford and Naas all swapped to Rtv so if they had stayed it would have been 3 and 3 on both channels.
Not Naas fault they had no say but the other two I hope they realise how stupid they were transferring tomorrow and that Leicester gets sidelined all afternoon.

I notice Racing tv call their main programme The Full SP,ridiculous name I was wondering what SP stood for maybe I shouldn’t ask.
