I really like the look of Brigadier Brown in the National Hunt Chase. Ran well in 2 decent races on consecutive days over hurdles at the course last year. Been running ok over fences in Ireland, good run last time, must be over-priced at 100/1 with Chandlers, don’t know anything about the jockey, but worth a small risk at the price I think.

It’s impossible to pick 3, most of them are from when I was still at school!
National Hunt:
Crystal Spirit
Uncle Ernie
Run and Skip
Stearsby
Door Latch (Saw him at Newbury when I was about 5 years old, gorgeous horse)
Vulrory’s Clown
Dessie (of course)
Flat:
Paris House
Mind Games
Linpac West
Dawns Delight
Jokist (first horse I had money on at Yarmouth in 1992, I was 11, 50p win)
Bob’s Return
Persian Punch
If I had to have 3, well I guess it would go something like:
1) Dessie
2) Persian Punch
3) Door Latch
Shut Up Smithy/TheDarkNight, what a load of c**p you both talk. So a horse that wins eleven group races, this one being a Group 2 at the age of ten. A horse that has almost won £1 million in prize money, has a near 33% strike rate at the top level, and he isn’t a great?? Try naming 5 better stayers than him in the last 20 years, not possible. Desert Orchid got me interested in the sport when I was still in junior school and what I love about David Elsworth is that if he has a good horse, he runs it. I can’t understand why trainers hardly ever run there best horses. Best Mate being a case in point. But anyway he is truly a GREAT, and well I got quite emotional watching that today. I’ve just got to be at Newmarket later in the year if he contests the Jockey Club Cup again.
Come on yuo can’t blame the connections for this tragedy. Are we talking about the same horse anyway, the horse that has finished 3rd in the last two King Georges, the horse who won a Aon chase, the Reynoldstown and the Feltham! His hurdles and chase ratings were virtually the same! It was an accident, nobody’s fault, just one of those things.
Sacha
Just thought I would let you know I’ve seen her run a couple of times (I keep lots of notes every time I go). On her second outing at Whittington, I wrote, bit fat, she was towards the rear, weakened 5 out, pulled up 3 or 4 out. That maiden wasn’t a bad race, Tricky Trevor who has since won a few races finished third. Then I saw her this year at Friars Haugh, there was a bit of money for her in the ring, I wrote looked well, I had £10 @ 6/1, she pulled up, again weakened about half a mile from home, I wrote, possible winner over 2m4f (unfortunately there aren’t many 2m4f point to points, but they are about). Good luck with her anyway. I’ll be keeping a look out. Make sure you post on her if shes going to be running. Oh and for back issues you cuold try, http://www.browzersbooks.co.uk
