The Shy Man has been found a decent opportunity and if’s he is fit enough, i think he’ll win. His mark of 115 may be prove to be extremely lenient and i’d only really be worried about Poker De Sivola if he gets his act together over fences.
Patman Du Charmil is in action at Cheltenham, it’s a competitive race, and the prescence of Cossack Dancer doesn’t help, as he’ll no doubt want to make it. Having said that if he recaptures his form, he should be in the mix.
Starluck makes his reappearance tomorrow, and i’m hoping he’ll come up the hill this time, otherwise even the 300 i’ve got for the champion won’t be looking too rosy.

Arran Law and Ifandbutwhy are both entered at Kelso. The former was withdrawn the other day due to the ground, and there has to be a doubt about him taking part. If he does, it’s not the greatest race, so i’d be hopeful of a decent showing. The latter goes in a maiden, which is a little surprising, but in actual fact it’s not a strong heat, the ground would also be a concern for him, but again you’d be hopeful he’d put up a decent performance.

Thanks for that Rob, he’s entered at Kelso on Sunday, so i’ll be keeping an eye out for that.

King Diamond runs today at Wetherby. I’m not sure what Mr Jordan is doing running over 2m6f, I’m open to being wrong, but i’m adamant he’s an out and out 2 miler, will probably cruise into the straight and then weaken rapidly

Well to be fair he probably wouldn’t have won over 2 miles today either, but the trip wasn’t a help. Given some of the mishaps today at Wetherby, at least he got round in one piece, He might struggle to win a race, but if he turns up in the 2 mile selling handicap chase at Plumpton next April, then watch out!!!

-£0.50 to a level £1 stake on both lists, a few entered for the weekend, so watch this space.

Arran Law goes in a novice hurdle at Carlisle tomorrow (friday) He’s probably one for a novice handicap once he gets a mark and will also probably need further than 2m, once again just looking for encouraging signs tomorrow.

King Diamond ran as expected today, which is very well, but he didn’t stay. He must now surely go back to 2m, and he will win one of those.

After today the 2 lists show +£ 0.50 to a level £ stake

Prince Tam showed up well for a fair way, before both lack of a turn of foot and recent run showed. I’m still confident he will pick up a race this season.

King Diamond goes tomorrow (Sunday) at Uttoxeter. The concern really is the trip, I thought he’d pick up a race over a sharp 2m off his low mark, but 2m5f first time out seems a rather strange move in my opinion. My guess is he’ll be prominent for a fair way before fading before turning in. Just looking for signs of promise, can’t back him over the trip. Although I will deduct a pound for the purposes of this.

Ok, Prince Tam goes at Kelso tomorrow (Sunday). The majority of the stables runners tend to need their initial outing, and i also think he might need a bit further, and a little cut. Given all that though, it’s a pretty weak affair and therefore I wouldn’t be surprised if he went in, but just hoping for a decent effort. I disagree with the post, who say he looks on a stiff mark, 95 seems more than fair to me.

I thought Fountains Cloud showed enough today to keep watching, obviously no world beater, but he ran on again up the straight after stumbling turning in and there is hope, a win this season isn’t impossible.

Running profit lost for the 2 lists is + £2.50

The first runner from this list is out today at Fontwell in the 5:50, the bumper, Fountains Cloud. He’s a massive price at the moment, it doesn’t look the strongest race, so I’m hoping he shows enough to warrant being on the list. I think the slightly shorter trip will only be in his favour, so fingers crossed for a good run.

Ben, I wasn’t meaning to be funny. Just personally, i don’t really take much notice of the breeding once a horse has attained a certain level of form.

Ok it may well be all downhill from now on, but thats 1 runner from the 2 lists and 1 winner, Max Bygraves doing the business in good style at Market Rasen at 7/2 (sp). I’ll be disappointed if he doesn’t go in again this season.

    +£3.50

Ben, on breeding Desert Orchid should have struggled to win anything!

Anyway i’ll try and keep these up to date when one of them is running, and will keep a running profit/loss total, and the first is today (just about) at Market Rasen where Max Bygraves is in a handicap on his debut of fences. I think he’ll need further than the 2m2f, but i’ll be interested to see how he takes to fences, and hope he shows he has races in him this season. I won’t be backing him, but it’s not beyond the realms of possibilty that he could make a successful debut.

No problem, not my first post no, although 200 in over 8 years is hardly contributing regularly, must try harder!

I used to  love old Palacegate Touch, 33 wins takes some doing. I know most were in plating company but he was decent in his younger days, 4th in an Ayr Gold Cup. Quirky character who won between 5 & 7 furlongs on all sorts of going on lots of different courses.

I also used to have a soft spot for Uncle Ernie. Just below top class over 2m, 4th in a champion chase, had a good turn of foot at the end of his races, beat Biking Flagship at Aintree and won the Grand Annual in his last race.

I could probably write about 100 others too!
